It's too bad but Aoki's been a complete bust this season. Awful defensively and the offensive numbers are really low. It will be interesting to see who the RF. 3B, and DH are next year. Those are typically high offense positions so the team should be able to get some upgrades on all those positions.

I normally have you on ignore, but I wasn't logged in so I'll respond on this.

Complete bust is pretty strong after 39 games.  I have been disappointed with his glove for sure, but I think his bat will come around.  He has been pretty key in some games.  He was OPS'ing at .700 10 games ago, so I think he'll swing back up.  I have a feeling a guy like him will be better after seeing these AL pitchers a second time.  I look for him to have a strong 2nd half.

Aoki should not be out there every dang night. He hasn't been that good. Even Gordon should get a day off every 3 weeks or so. And if Maxwell never plays, replace him with something useful like a 12th relief pitcher.

Yeah I don't know, he's been pretty terrible so far especially when you factor in will smith has been one of the most dominant relief pitchers in baseball this year, it's another trade that DM lost

Isn't Aoki amount the league leaders in both, batting average
at home and against left handers? While he has been a little
dissapoonting. He hasn't been a bust. He has plenty of time to
a solid player for KC this year.

Aoki needs to start hitting a few more doubles and then he'll be pretty much the same offensive weapon he was for the Brewers. Where he's in inarguably disappointing is on defense. I was under the impression he was a plus defender.

Re: Game 40 May 15th, 2014

I wouldn't consider Aoki a bust, but I am definitely underwhelmed by his production thus far. His overall numbers are noticeably worse than his previous two seasons (he was seeing a lot of NL pitchers for the first time, too). My main question is how in the world did he hit 18 home runs in his first two seasons? He hasn't had the ball airborne 18 times this year, let alone hit with enough authority to reach the fence. He just dribbles ground balls hoping to sneak one through.

I agree way too early to call him that. Disappointing yes, but nothing worse then that.

He gets bonus points for comical swings.

Thanks, Dave.

Nice work by Ventura - getting out of that inning with no damage.

I didn't understand the excitement about the Aoki acquisition. On a power challenged team to have his bat in RF, even at historic production, isn't what we needed.

Not exactly a loud inning there for the Royals.

Billy is different than even last year. He just doesn't give a ****. I care more than he does. That's not ideal.
