Opening Day Tickets
I was one who fell victim to the erroneous e-mail sent out by the team, and then had to work during the release to the general public, so i had no chance at getting tickets to Opening Day this season. I've gone every year since 2007 so this is pretty disappointing. As of right now, even just for standing room tickets, the prices on stubhub, ticketliquidator, etc. are around $50 per ticket. If anyone here happens to see 2-3 decently priced tickets for Opening Day, could you please let me know? It would be much appreciated.

RE: Opening Day Tickets
Yeah, that email was freaking stupid. I don't see how someone could make that mistake.

RE: Opening Day Tickets
I'm guessing they are not going to get any cheaper on stubhub either. This is the most anticipated season we've had in a while.

RE: Opening Day Tickets
$50 for Opening Day is reasonably priced, you won't find anything much cheaper than that. It's the one day of the year the city cares about baseball. I haven't missed in 12 years, I've paid up to $100 in years past.

Re: Opening Day Tickets
There used to be a deal that you could do where you'd sell newspapers and you'd get a ticket to the game for doing it. I don't have any more details than that, so I know I'm not terribly helpful, but you could check into that.

Re: Opening Day Tickets
yeah, it was bull how they screwed a lot of people out of the opportunity to buy opening day tickets like they did, as I was able to go to the last couple of opening days. They should give some type of discount or something off of regular season tickets for their horrible "mistake"/

They sent an email advertising opening day tickets and then saying they weren't actually a part of it. You never had them. They sold out. That's what they're supposed to do. If you couldn't get tickets, then too bad for you.

RE: Opening Day Tickets
I'm not sure how they "screwed" anybody out of getting tickets with the mistake that was made.
They mistakenly said that single game tickets would go on a pre-sale Thursday for those signed up for newsletter. If you went to the site on Thursday to get opening day tickets, as I did, you received a message that opening day tickets were excluded from the pre-sale and that they would be available on Saturday.
Since they were only available Saturday regardless, I don't see how anybody was "screwed" by the mistake that led people to believe they could get them Thursday.
It certainly sucks for ryancrist86 since he had to work Saturday, but he would have been out of luck regardless of whether they mistakenly said Thursday or not.

RE: Opening Day Tickets
There is also a pretty nice promotion by the Royals to get 5 good games - including Opening Day through one of 3 packages. You can find them here: kansascity.royals.mlb.com/kc/t...ority_packs.jspLooks like most of the packages left are upper deck, but the price is better than you'll get on stub hub if you want to catch this set of games.

Re: Opening Day Tickets
No, they also sent out an e-mail with an article that mentioned how for the presale a select number of opening day tickets would be available for purchase. Then just a short time before the presale began a link was sent out that said they weren't available for purchase. That's what the whole screwed people our of tickets was all about.

Re: Opening Day Tickets
I don't see how anyone got "screwed" out of anything, especially if they sent out a second email saying the tickets weren't part of your presale. Sounds like another PR gaffe.
If you really want to go there are plenty of options to get tickets whether its buying a multiple game package or using a scalper, or just go to the second game which won't feature moronic drunken non-fans who only show up to party on opening day.

RE: Opening Day Tickets
I never got that 2nd email...
And, no, I didn't get screwed out of tickets, but I did get screwed out of time since I decided to go into work late because I didn't want to miss it. Then 9:00 rolled around and when I went to the site to purchase, they had a correction listed there. Inconvenient.

Well that's pretty bad. I'd be less than pleased in that situation.

Tell me again how you were screwed out of tickets. They still didn't take them away from you.

Re: Opening Day Tickets
Well when someone expects the opportunity to get them for the presale, and then at almost the last second they get an e-mail that says the opening day tickets are not available on the presale, that's pretty much getting screwed. I cant afford to go and get opening day tickets now when they are at outlandish and overpriced prices, even for standing room only. It's not worth it.

They would have been the same price if they were available then. Wash the sand out of your vagina and deal with it.

no, they would've been the regular price as they usually are, just a little more expensive.

To feel like you were wronged in any way makes you look like a bigger idiot than most of your posts already do.
