Spared from Yuni
Philly signed him to a minor league deal.
Somewhere, Dayton is in tears.

Re: Spared from Yuni
I understand the fear here, with DM's history with Yuni, but after Yost pretty much threw him under the bus last year, I really don't see him coming back here.

I'm sure DM was ready to give him guaranteed money.

Wilson, did you happen to pay attention to what was said when Yuni was released last year, when he was still owed money?

Wow, Delmon Young and Yuni. OBP is dead to these Phillies. Dominic Brown reminds me of one of the old fashion trades the Royals made back in early 70's when they found talent that was young and underachieving where they were - Mayberry, Otis, Porter

wilson does not let the facts cloud his opinion. nick05 wrote: Wilson, did you happen to pay attention to what was said when Yuni was released last year, when he was still owed money?

Re: Spared from Yuni
Yuni was a fat turd, so it took three flushes to get rid of him.
The fact is, teams seldom release players that they owe money. The Royals, even more seldom. Add that to the fact that Yost said he was complaining about his backup role, something that managers seldom expound on, and I think it's pretty clear. The Royals are done with him.

Did you see where Dayton said this off season that Yuni was the "perfect utility player" if he could've accepted his role. There was no chance that Yuni was coming back here after what happened last year, but Moore would love to bring back a player with Yuni's skill set and that is scary as f*ck.

Re: Spared from Yuni
From a guy who is paying Francoueur 7 million a year, Hoch 4.5 million, Chen 4 million, and Ervin Santana 13 million, nothing would surprise me

Re: Spared from Yuni
It seems to me that utility guys are not that hard to find, at various prices.
Dayton's problem was that he felt like Yuni was an everyday SS on the first go-round. Wrong. He stuck with Yuni too long, but finally traded him in the Grienke deal. OK, adios.
Second time around, he picked him up as a backup/utility guy and Yuni still thought of himself as better than he was. Uh, ballplayers tend to do that.
When Yuni turned into a turd in the clubhouse, he got cut. Good on the organization for doing that. Adios again.
Two goodbyes is enough.
