I started my day out very excited..I got off work at 11 (out in Olathe) and headed back to Lee's Summit to go pickup my mom and then back to my house to pickup my things to be signed.  The caravan was heading out to Topeka with my (2nd favorite Royals player Eric Hosmer) Willie Wilson, Aaron Crow and Everett Teaford.

It was scheduled to be from 3:30 to 4:30 and then we were planning on then driving down to Manhatten to get to the signing from 6-7 too.  I like being early and prepared so I figured if we got there at 1:30 we would most likely be the first people there (so if it was slow maybe I could get back in line).  We get to the bar/grill place called Skinnies and to my surprise it was already filled with Royals fans/autograph seekers (had to be around 30-40 people already there).  In all my years going to Caravans this was a first seeing so many people there so early.

So were standing out in line and we are talking to these 2 retired math teachers (really nice guys) and the time went by fast and by 3 o clock the line had already gotten to around 150 people and they had an employee stand in the back of the line to cut it off (so no getting back in line).  The Royals van didn't get there after 3:30 and they didn't start signing til 4...so I'm assuming they were over an hour late to Manhatten

I was kind of in a pickle because at Caravan events they are pretty strict to 1 item per person and I had my 2 bobbleheads to get signed and then I promised a friend I would get his photo signed by Hoz.  So I had to think fast and I know sometimes they are nicer to women so I told my mom just try your best to get both bobbleheads signed and maybe we will get lucky.....

So we get up to the autograph table and they have this Royals employee woman perched right over Hoz and I was thinking this does not look good....But my mom really stepped up she did the whole my 2 grandkids really love you (she has no grandkids btw) and got both bobbleheads signed and I got the pictured signed...So we didn't have to drive all the way to Manhatten..

Overall great day...then on the way back through Lawrence I hit up the TJ Max and got this Eric Berry jersey for $10 (my favorite Chiefs player).  Me and my mom have always been close but through the years of going to signings I think looking back we have had some of our best times together and she loves going just as much as I do
