Unless it's Bundy, gotta pray for Seattle.

If they gave us Bundy and Gausman, I would trade Butler.

Right, and BAL is one of them. Two prospects for a proven all-star caliber hitter? Sounds about right to me. --------------------------------------------- --- AntiCassel wrote: wilson123 wrote: If they gave us Bundy and Gausman, I would trade Butler. LOL What a joke. Hate to break this to you.

Or that Seattle 'covets' him. The whole 'little value' thing..Thanks for clearing that up. Hey, should check out the O's board..bet ya a bunch of stuff to talk about there. All day..every day.

Maybe a Montero and walker or Hutlzen for Butler and maybe more on our side... that also unloads a significant salary for DM

RE: Mariners and Orioles strong on Butler
Montero HAS to come back to us in a deal with Seattle.
If I was Seattle, I would just sit tight with Montero and not give up Hultzen, Walker, or Paxton.

RE: Mariners and Orioles strong on Butler
I dont think seattle offers hultzen or walker, much less BOTH. Paxton and Montero, maybe. They are still signing another to catcher to go along with Jaso, so Montero is in position to catch less this year

RE: Mariners and Orioles strong on Butler
I could live with that, but it makes no sense for Seattle. They need Offense but are going to trade their most promising hitter?
No way I make any of these deals without hultzen or walker. Paxton does not have the upside we need.

that also unloads a significant salary for DM Montero could also serve as the back-up catcher, allowing the royals to fill the bench with someone else. I love Butler's bat (and he's my 4 year old daughter's favorite player), but getting Montero and one of those two pitching prospects would be pretty awesome.

RE: Mariners and Orioles strong on Butler
If I am SEA, I'm not sure I do Hultzen/Walker for Butler. Vargas is most likely gone after 2013. That would leave them with Paxton as the only decent-to-high impact SP that is close for them. They have other decent pieces like Erasmo Ramirez, but that trade would cripple their SP for 2014 and beyond.
Conversely, that deal cripples KC for 2013. Neither one of those pitchers is ready for MLB. Hultzen is at least a half season and Walker probably 1.5 seasons. I don't see how a deal with SEA helps KC.

But wouldn't 14 thru 16 look really good?
