Good idea. I'm optimistic (as always) that the Royals are going to have a very good off season, and I hope this week kicks it off right.

A-Rod is out for half the season.
Trade Brandon Wood for Sabathia.
Ace.
Championship.

RE: T-Official Winter Meetings Thread
James Loney is going to sign with the Rays so that means a Hosmer trade is out. It could either be prospects or Myers now in a possible trade.

Mentioned in the other thread, but Mariners won't give up King Felix, O's won't give up Bundy. The only way i see Country Breakfast going to the O's is for Bundy.

I agree. for the O's to get the deal done they need a 3rd team. unless DM has ideas of taking the prospects he gets from Baltimore and working a deal for pitching elsewhere

Loney is nothing but a glove. His signing means absolutely nothing for other possible deals. That's like someone saying "the Royals signed Tony Graffanino, so no dice on a deal for Robinson Cano."

According to MLB traderumors, the Mets are now aerious about moving Dickey and the Royals and Rangers are mentioned as teams with the best fits.

Re: T-Official Winter Meetings Thread
Anyone in their right mind who thinks that Butler would net Bundy and Gausman, let alone Bundy by himself must have a preschool education when it comes to market trade value. And I'm a Royals lifer. Butler has value only for his right-handed hit tool with a modest but developing power tool. No defense, no position, no athleticism, no personality. Let's try to be realistic here on what kind of return he would bring from any prospective suitor.

Let's try to be realistic here on what kind of return he would bring from any prospective suitor. He is one of the best RH hitters in baseball who showed last year that his power is legit. While he will never win a gold glove in the field he was greatly improved this last season as he was in better shape. He obviously emerged as the team leader and if you ever attended any public appearances with his interaction with fans you would see that a claim of no personality is false. Billy is far from the next coming of Christ, but if the Royals can't get a front line pitcher that helps them win this year then the Royals are better off keeping him. I will say that if the M's were willing to trade Montero + one of their young arms, DM would have to think about that.

I don't think there's any way that the O's would trade Bundy for Butler. That doesn't mean I would accept less for him...
It just doesn't seem like there's much of a match between the teams.

- While the Red Sox are one of six teams on Asdrubal Cabrera's no-trade list, a source tells WEEI.com's Alex Speier that the Indians shortstop would be open to a deal and Boston's presence on that list wouldn't preclude a trade. The Yankees, Tigers, Nationals, Giants, and Mets are the other clubs on Cabrera's no-trade list.
Read more at http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/#x2oJ7PfB22RxvGhg.99It always interesting to see contenders on no-trade lists. I wonder what prompted Cabrera's decision on these.

Jayson Stark @ jaysonst Here's another team to add to list of Adam LaRoche pursuers: The # Orioles . An exec of one interested team says O's in on him "hard."
