In this instance, Archer is way off. Julius gained an inordinate amount of yards on a play that Dallas barely runs anymore, the shotgun draw. Murray can make all the runs.
Its not about what you can't do, its about what you can do NBA Championship Coach Rick Carlisle

DM far better yards per carry. He is electric. Jones never was. He was okay, a decent back, but DM if he returns well and stays healthy is pro bowl level. Reminds me of the kid in philly McCoy with 15-20 more lbs.

Don't get ahead of yourself he's no Mccoy yet, but he needs to show he can stay healthy. I watched him a lot at OU and he is injured a lot. if he can stay off IR then he has a great future.

if you never watched any of the games this would make complete sense. i've watched the games, and no offense to the OP, but it sounds really stupid when you compare julius jones to Demarco Murray. Julius Jones NEVER ran as hard or had the pop that Murray has. Julius Jones never had the patience to allow a play to develop the way Murray does. Julius Jones never had the ability to run a defender over the way that Murray does. And Murray broke his ankle, which is a deal breaker for any player in the league. has nothing to do with being injury prone, he severely injured his ankle. Regarding McCoy, he's severely overrated. Look at his yards gained before initial contact. He's a good back, but I wouldn't say its too soon to compare Murray. At this point, i think Murray is better for the Cowboys and if i had to draft one of them today, i'd draft Murray.

What does it say? Im not sure how to interpret the above.
But from watching Mccoy I'd say he's the best in the league at shaking off contact or avoiding it all together, being elite at turning "nothing into something" situations... Demarco is elite at this too, but not quite on the Peterson/McCoy level.

His last 3 games before injury were 87,73 and 38. I did watch the games and your right he definitely has more pop, but one reason why he dropped to the 3rd round was because of durability. I worry if we have seen the best out of him already. The comparison was not what I wanted to focus on it was the other stuff surrounding it.

I wonder what his durability would have looked like if the giants had not been falling on his legs that whole game.

Boy we have a habit of forgetting all the good things a former player did for us.
Never run the shotgun draw anymore, hmm.....
