Bad old days?  You think the board is better with all the RC and all the Mavs suck, cept for one, litterally,posts on the board after every loss is better then the "bad old days"?  And how is baning a guy better then having mods who wouldnt need the head cheese to do their jobs the right answer?

I don't remember you being here then, but perhaps you were and just forgot.  There were certain folks, including a mod or two, who thought it was the greatest thing to go trash up random threads.  They ruined interesting threads over and over and over.  They congratulated each other on what a great thing they'd done.  Fortunately, most of that went away with the move to Scout.

As for the unfortunate lack of moderating lately, have you forgotten just how badly Balkis trashed up the boards before action was finally taken???  There was another guy who kept getting himself banned and begging his way back in to do it again.

Dude one of my very first posts on this board was directed at Jeffro concerning Calvin Booth, so if you were here back then you can complain about the bad old days.  I dont like the spam either, I just had a problem with the bad old days statement.  It made it seem like you think that the didnt even like basketball till about five years ago but still want to say who is top 10 all time, tear down the whole franchise to prop up one player "fans" we have on this board is better then the good old days.   Its kind of hard to barstool with guys who's BBIQ consists of Google and YouTube videos.

Yes, I did mean every word. That doesn't mean that I wasn't trying to have a laugh with you. We all screw up dude. I never said anything about banning, but mods still have certain thread control. If you think it's a good idea to have strangers come into the fray then you're not fooling anyone in your self campaigning. I feel like I'm stating the obvious to say that we want people we know and trust. If you don't understand that then your qualifications only continue to tumble downhill.

I'm not trying to fool anyone as I have stated my intentions for all to see. I understand and appreciate that you want people you all know and trust. If I'm not mistaken, you have mods that you know and trust already. They need help, plain and simple. It's been repeated here in this very thread more than once by multiple people that they need help of some sort.

And yes, I think it's good to have an "outsider" because as a mod on my forum, I know from experience that you get attached to people....build relationships but yet you still have to be fair and unbiased when it comes time to be a mod. It's hard to be fair and unbiased if you've been friends for years. If you don't understand THAT........then I don't know what to say to ya man.

I think you are under the impression that I want full reign of the site or something. That is laughable...if anyone does get to be a mod, it will probably go something like this:
The current mods bring in new guy (whoever that may be, if anyone)
The new mod does nothing but watch the other mods, learn how things are done around here, seek advice from other mods ...it might take awhile before that new mod is ready to flex his/her muscles, it depends on the person. The new mod would probably do nothing but clean up spam like the Nike Ads and what have you. I can almost guarantee that this forum, like most other forums, has a process they go through before any action is taken, especially against long standing members. They have a special section just for mods to discuss things.... and before anyone gets banned or what ever, those mods discuss things thoroughly and a vote may even be taken. So in short, having a stranger in the midst is not as bad as it sounds. The trust factor comes into play after time....everyone knows that.

To tell you the truth, I don't think this forum needs mods as much as it just needs to enforce the rules that are already in place.
