Oof. Overpaid by about 7-8 mil. I hope we get him now though, because we are stuck for 3 days now.

Wow. I would've been surprised but the Gordon Hayward signing kind of made me expect this

Re: Mavs offer 45 million to Parsons

Holy **** that's a lot of money. Puts the fire to Bosh and the Rockets which makes me extremely happy even if we don't get him.

Pretty much tells me that the Mavs got the Lebron call about a second ago too...

Marc Stein @ ESPNSteinLine 1 Min.

Restricted free agent Parsons, I'm told, will sign deal early Thursday ... after which Houston will have three days to match Dallas' offer

They had to offer the max. Only chance they had. We shouldn't worry about the money. We should worry about Houston taking the 3 days then matching at the end and losing out on all of Parsons/Deng/Ariza.

Re: Mavs offer 45 million to Parsons

Actually surprisingly lower than I expected. I was expecting more like a max... Good to hear he accepted and is not waiting around for Houston's mind to be made up. But now we've got to pray LeBron and thus Bosh leaves Miami. Otherwise, we might as well back out now.

At least we'll achieve our offseason goal of making Houston pay the luxury tax.

I'm pretty that is or at least very close to Parsons max just for 3 years instead of 4.

Did they say 3 years? That would surprise me if we didn't offer the full 4. $11m per year is much more reasonable to me.
