Game 115: Homer at home = ?

Game 115: Homer at home = ?

Well, Francona waits probably 20 games too late but Swisher is finally hitting behind Gomes.  So is Chisenhall.

Of course the issue right now is Murphy bad defense in RF.  If Dickerson can play the OF, he should be in there instead of Swisher.
Back in the AL, I would want Murphy at DH and Dickerson at RF when Bourn comes back.

After having a good day yesterday in the 2 hole yesterday, today he pays immediate negative dividends with a GIDPbangheadbanghead
Not sure how hard it was hit, but one of those plays where having the 1Bman up and covering 1B hurt the Indians, as he stepped on the bag and threw out Kipnis.bangheadbanghead

And the Gomes in the 5 hole gets an early test, two on and two outs.  It would be just like the Indians, 2 hits and a walk in the inning including a double and zero runs scored.bangheadbangheadbanghead

Yup, Homer sets up Gomes, two sliders away, then busts a fastball up and in.  Out of the zone but Gomes can't help himself. bangheadbangheadbanghead

And the spiral begins, House throws a first pitch strike at the knees, then the second pitch is even lower but Hamilton reaches down and shoots it to LF.bangheadbanghead

@#$#@^@% Ugly defense rears its head again.  Freaking infield single by Bruce AGAIN, then Santana somehow throws the ball away allowing Hamilton to score and Bruce to go all the way to third.bangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead

Re: Game 115: Homer at home = ?

Just saw the replay on the GIDP by Murphy.  OMFG this team has no luck.  If Frazier isn't playing up, that ball either goes foul or hops the bag and is extra bases, as it is, because he was on the line guarding the bag he was able to get the ball going to the line (which he could do because he actually is not the stereotype LH 1Bman).

House is able to get Frazier on a lineout, the Ks Mersoraco, but then throws a great pitch low and away to Ludwick who hooks it into LF for an RBI single.

Man if that isn't signs that this game/season is not going your way.  I hate baseball sometimes.bangheadbangheadbanghead

What time are the Browns on Saturday?

Not serious...I know it's 630 Central on NFL Network.

In case you were wondering that's reverse psychology to make sure we get a bunch of runs here.

Kluber and Bauer and rain for 72 Auers.

Re: Game 115: Homer at home = ?

ANd so the Reds score on a freaking infield jam job dribbler while the Indians hit three shots that result in outs, the GIDP ball, a lineout to RF, and a lineout to 3B.
I hate this game.bangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead

And saw the replay of the error play, Santana should have eaten the ball, only a perfect throw gets Hamilton, they would have just had 1st and 3rd and no outs.  You just have to live to fight another day.

House is pissed at his defense, doing it all on his own, two straight come-backers.

If I was at short...like 30 years ago I would have pump faked a throw to first and caught the overaggressive insect by surprise and got him out.

Agreed, Chisenhall shouldn't have thrown either, Bruce beat it by a full step, eating it would have had the best result, only 1st and 2nd no outs instead of 1st and 3rd and of course the SNAFU that actually resulted.  House tries to make it 3 in a row, but it is hit past him and freaking Kipnis' lack of range screws the Indians again as he doesn't get to the grounder up the middle HIT BY THE PITCHER, and that costs the Indians a freaking run.bangheadbangheadbangheadbangheadbangheadbangheadbangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead
Maybe all the running will hurt Bailey on the mound.

OMG House shouldn't have bothered taking a bat up there, that was pretty bad, swinging at a FASTBALL in the dirt.ohlord

There never should have been an issue for Santana as to whether or not to throw.

Chisenhall was playing short in the shift.  A ball was hit in the hole tot Chisenhall  that he had to go some distance for and that he backhanded.  He wasn't going to get anything on the throw and get the hitter.  Chisenhall should have thrown the ball because he was going to be off balanced facing first and third uncovered.  Haqmilton had the ball in front of him, saw what was happening and took off for third.

Re: Game 115: Homer at home = ?

Murphy likes the #2 hole, hitting the ball well.

Even the GIDP was tough luck, like I said, if the 1Bman was playing back, that goes for a double.
Oh...and Francona daring to play Swisher in LF freaking bites us in the butt big time, any average LFer gets to Hamilton's triple for an out, or at least cuts it off.  Geezus Dickerson better be unable to play OF, and if he really is, why don't they DL him and put Holt there?!  SERIOUSLY!bangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead
