Game 102: Klubbing the Royals

Game 102: Klubbing the Royals

Freaking At-Em balls raise its ugly head again, Brantley, Raburn and Swisher all line out to the OF. bangheadbanghead
Not sure we can blame the hitters for a five pitch inning when two of the outs are lineouts.  Sigh.

Ramirez plays to GOs flawlessly at SS.  One sounded like a semi-difficult play up the middle, able to throw out Cain, wonder if ACab would have been able to make that play.

Chisenhall in the best hitters count of the day, 3-1 and swings at a borderline fastball inside, gets jammed and hits a fly to CF.  Couldn't quite get around enough to pull it .

For a soccer game this is pretty exciting.

All we need is one run because Kluber is a lock for the PERFECTO!

Re: Game 102: Klubbing the Royals

Make that 4 at-em balls (after Brantley hits another line drive to the OF) the Indians get a hit by Santana to lead-off the 5th...now unfortunately Raburn is up.ohlord
Honestly, I would have rather had Aguilar...but Raburn takes an off-speed 3-2 pitch for ball 4, two on no outs.  But Swisher is up...again, rather have Aguilar instead of Swisher's brosome .163 BA against LHP.bangheadbangheadbanghead

And it drops further, hits the ball so slowly to third that Moustakas only has a play at 3B and doesn't even think about a GIDP even with Swisher running.  Moving the runners up to 2nd and 3rd wouldn't have mattered as Gomes Ks again, this time on a hanging curveball at the letters. bangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead

Chisenhall follows that up swinging through a fastball down the middle.  The Indians must be one of the only teams where after getting 1st and 2nd and no outs, you expect no one to score. bangheadbanghead

Ramirez with three assists in the inning on plays that seem like he had to move...any opinions from those watching the game on his abilities to play SS defensively vis-a-vis ACab and in general?

We have four innings to get a run or it might be Harvey Haddix  part two.

Duffy' velocity down to the low-90s.
Hamilton saying we miss the Royals "ace" in Shields, honestly I would rather face Shields than Ventura.

Re: Game 102: Klubbing the Royals

Aviles gets on with a walk, but Brantley hits another at-em ball, one hopper to Butler at 1B who was holding the runner on, IOW, foot towards the hole probably results in a hit and since the count was full....never know it might have FINALLY got the Indians on the board.

Here we go again, Santana with another leadoff single, Raburn up...3-2 count again....crazy
ARGH...different result, Raburn chases a high fastball, would have been ball 4 if he had more discipline! bangheadbangheadbanghead

Re: Game 102: Klubbing the Royals

Out 2 is a freaking at-em ball by Swisher almost to the warning track in dead center, so it almost went 400 feet.  @#$@%@#$ wrong part of the ball park.bangheadbangheadbanghead

Re: Game 102: Klubbing the Royals

Gomes chases ball 4 twice running the count to 3-2.  I guess you might as well try to get a hit since a walk might not help too much with a struggling Chisenhall up next.
Gomes ends up flying out to the warning track in RF. bangheadbangheadbanghead

Get serious.  It is a rare feat for the Tribe to go nine innings without an error.
