Game 2: April 3

Bourn fans swinging to start the game. ubaldo vs. morrow. same lineup as game 1.

cabrera with a 7-pitch walk.

happy 26th birthday today for kipnis.

kipnis goes full, flies out deep to LF. cabrera nearly gets doubled off.

tribe again patient at the plate tonight. good sign. 24-pitch inning for morrow.

swisher goes 3-1, pops out to LF.

Far different challenge tonight for the Tribe bats.

Morrow can light up the gun with his heat, touching 99 MPh at times. He also throws his slider at 90. And then there is his curve. He can be nasty.

Off the bat, it didnt look like Kips fly was anything but routine, but it carried all the way to the chain link fence in left. Melky had to go up against it to make the catch.

leadoff single for reyes off ubaldo.

next guy grounds to swisher. ubaldo can't find 1st and they get just one out instead of the DP.

DP, 4-6-3.

Listening to Hamilton talk about Jiminez and how he has changed his mechanics just makes me think bangheadbangheadbangheadbanghead

Jiminez says that by smoothing things out, he can actually see the plate when he pitches.  Umm...I think if anyone looks at my posts in the years he has been with the Indians...I have been saying exactly that!bangheadbangheadbanghead

This is the first Ive seen Ubaldo this year, and he has smoothed out his delivery quite a bit.

TOP2

Brantley breaks up Morrow's no hitter with an infield single.  As fast as the infield is, I thought they might still get him on that high bouncer.

Neither has been epic, but they count just the same...and we start the second with two base hits.

Re: Game 2: April 3

Sigh...K-nolds really puts a damper on two men on and no one out to start an inning.  I guess better than a GIDP.  Hope Chisenhall comes through.

The key is if that delivery change is allowing him to actually hit Santana's glove...except in the cases where they are splitters designed to go in the dirt.  IF he is consistently hitting the glove...I am going to be optimistic.  The thing about Jiminez, even the outings where he was good, it was more because he seemed effectively wild and his stuff just was fooling hitters, not because he actually had control or command.

BOT2

Ubaldo looked like he was inspired by Morrow in the last half of that inning: crank back and throw it by them.
