If I was Francona, I would exercise this clause immediately once I realized that the front office was retained.

Classy move by Francona to protect his buds-can't imagine the Francona/Shapinetti team staying together through a total rebuild. Alomar may outlast all of them, although I hope and pray for a major investor to get partial ownership. Maybe Francona knows about this before we do?
