Fausto back
The Artist Formerly known as Fausto Carmona has his Visa and is reinstated He will return after a 3 week suspension Aug 11th http://www.cleveland.com/tribe...hp_roberto.htmlI would think that they can do one of several things to create the roster spot needed when he is activated. I'm not sure but I think he has to be added back to the roster while he even is suspended. #1 Trade Lowe #2 Cut Accardo & move Tomlin to long relief #3 Send McAllister back down.

Re: Fausto back
Now Antonetti after they Activate Sizemore also in August will call this their 2 big trade deadline deals without giving anyone up.

Re: Fausto back
IMHO Antonetti lack of quality moves since that deal is starting to look like he is now afraid to make a high risk trade again. gapwedge wrote:

#3 Send McAllister back down. Send McAllister down? He and Masterson are the only freakin' starting pitchers on this staff who belong in the big leagues right now!

RE: Fausto back
Good news. With potential pitching help on the way (Hernandez, Raffy Perez) it definitely will help Antonelli focus his search to upgrade the club. Those two pitchers are likely better than anything he could acquire through a trade within the club's constraints.
Given those constraints I don't anticipate the club acquiring anything beyond fringe,e.g. they might be able to upgrade Cunningham.
There's still reports the Angels would move Bourjos for the "right" reliever. I doubt Joe Smith is the "right" reliever but if so, I'd rather see a deal like that than one for an aging RHB (Soriano) or a definite fringe player (Denorfia).
When Hernandez returns I'm thinking I'd move Lowe to the pen just to see how he would adapt. He's been there before and maybe throwing more often would benefit him at this point in his career.

Re: Fausto back
I said it would be a option, with this front office you never know what they are going to do. Currently there is only 3 options as I see it and McAllister does happen to be one of those who know they have failed to cut Accardo a couple of other time already this year I would think one of the starters will be going to the bullpen if Lowe is not traded. But if they continue to refuse to let Accardo go then that will not be a option But if they have to add Fausto to the roster right away then they will have to make that move today or tomorrow I would think. buddy34 wrote: i think kcat is the only one who hasn't noticed mcallister is pitching well

Re: Fausto back
Full MLB media release: The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Cleveland Indians pitcher Roberto Hernandez has received a suspension of three weeks for engaging in age and identity fraud.
In addition, Hernandez has agreed to restructure his player contract with the Indians.
Hernandez shall serve his suspension, which is effective beginning today, through Friday, August 10th. Hernandez will be eligible for a rehabilitation assignment to a Minor League affiliate during his suspension.

Re: Fausto back
It would appear that MLB took into account the revised contract entered into between the Indians and Hernandez in suspending him for 3 weeks. In contrast, the Marlins Oviedo received a suspension of 8 weeks. He did not renogiate his contract.
Being allowed to pitch in the minors during his suspension means that the suspension will be almost meaningless, as Hernandez will likely need a couple of weeks in the minors to get into pitching shape in any event.

Antonetti in slightly different words said the same thing. Acta "is very happy." He also said that Hernandez coming back shouldn't have much of an impact on the Tribe's quest for a "talented" starter though it might affect the priorities.

Fraudsto should probably start in the pen when he returns to the big club.

Re: Fausto back
According to a interview with Shappy he stated to the media with The Fraudsto's track record as a starter they cannot see him anywhere but the rotation when he returns. ChiefWahoo1948 wrote: Fraudsto should probably start in the pen when he returns to the big club.

Re: Fausto back
If Hernandez does come back and rejoins the rotation, the only logical move is that Lowe is released and retires. He is at the very bitter end.
