Mike Morse
I wonder if the Tribe has reached out...would be a great target for the Tribe...big power RH bat to go with Reynolds and get AB's at 1st,OF,and DH According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Mike Morse "strongly opposes being a designated hitter." That could present some complications in the Nationals' trade talks with American League clubs. Morse is almost certain to be dealt at some point before the start of the 2013 regular season because Adam LaRoche is now locked in at first base and the Washington outfield is filled. Jim Bowden of ESPN and SiriusXM reported Tuesday that 10-11 teams have already expressed interest.

RE: Mike Morse
I'd like him in left. But the Stanks have a beat on it. www.nydailynews.com/sports/bas...ticle-1.1235912

RE: Mike Morse
I think Morse is one of those guys that has more trade value than he's probably worth.

Re: Mike Morse
They call him the beast; he sure would fit well in this lineup. I have been hearing that the Nats are looking for some bullpen help? The teams mentioned did not include Cleveland. Just wondering why? he could fill the LF spot.

Re: Mike Morse
He's got a good bat, but he is an absolute nightmare in the field. Let's just put it this way: he makes Delmon Young look like a Gold Glover. I'd gladly take him as our DH, but he's just one of those guys who's bat doesn't make up for his defense. IMHO he's not worth what the asking price from the Nationals would be especially if he's dead set on playing in the field.

Re: Mike Morse
The guy definitely has an aversion to taking a walk. Walk rate is pathetic. I would be fine with him as a DH but apparently, he wouldn't be. Not sure where else you can put him?

RE: Mike Morse
Maybe the Indians can get a guy like Smoak or Carp from Seattle now with Morse and Morales on their team. There's your DH.

I have seen worse ideas, though Smoak has been pretty bad.

RE: Mike Morse
LGT: The Mariners were major players in the Nick Swisher bidding, and probably were interested in Mark Reynolds. If the roles were reversed, and Seattle had signed Reynolds and Swisher, and the Indians had acquired Ibanez/Bay/Morales, I'd be downright depressed about the 2013 season. Not that Reynolds and Swisher will make the Indians contenders, but given the other possibilities, Cleveland's offseason looks pretty darn good.

RE: Mike Morse
I would rather see what Gomes / McGuiness & McDade brings us first Carp & Smoak will still be available during Spring Training if need be and the internal options do not pan out. The move that needs to be made right now is cut loose or move Ubaldo to the bullpen and sign Saunders or Marcum to upgrade the starting staff even more. Move Ubaldo into long relief and make him pitch his way back into the rotation. tribefan40 wrote: Maybe the Indians can get a guy like Smoak or Carp from Seattle now with Morse and Morales on their team. But you should use that same logic toward the second point. They are not going to pay Ubaldo 5-7mil or whatever it is to be a long man. There are other options that the team has in the event Ubaldo completely falls off a cliff this spring.

RE: Mike Morse
After the last 2 season I do not ever see Ubaldo as anything more than a failure and our front office major issue over the last 15 years has been the ability to move forward from a horrible situation. The best thing for this team would be to move forward and 5 - 7 mil is nothing compared to the loses that will add up if Ubalso remains in the rotation. JMHO If I'm wrong I will be the first to get on here and say I was if at the all-star break Ubaldo is 9-3 just to throw a number out there but I see zero chance in that happening. skydancing wrote:
