Jose Ramirez

Saw he is tearing up winter ball while already having a great 2012 season, would not be too stunned if he makes the big league club out of ST, he is a very very advanced hitter

Only 20 years old batted. 354 with 15 doubles 4 triples scored 56 Runs and 3 HRs 27 RBI in the minors, also had a .404 OBP with 25 walks to 26 strike outs he also was 17/24 on SB attempts

In the winter league he is batting .312 vs major league pitchers with 5 doubles 1 triple and scored 22 Runs 0 HR 22 RBI in 38 games with a .389 OBP with 18 walks to 23 strike outs he was 10/15 on SB attempts vs Major league catchers

RE: Jose Ramirez

A year or two away. Will not make the team out of ST, as he needs to play every day and not ride the pine behind Kipnis.

Another young 2B/SS with potential? Wolters, Ronny Rodriguez, Lindor, Paulino, and now Ramirez.... with Kipnis and Asdrubal thriving in the MLB? Trade bait?

Paulino is likley a future 3B or LF, Rodriguez is likley a future RF maybe LF after the swisher deal or 3B, Chisenhall could be moved to 1B in the future and Asdrubal could be traded

so you could really be looking at Wolters, Lindor, Kipnis and Ramirez at the SS/2B spots in the future you could have Kipnis/Ramirez DH and Wolters as the INF backup and play Lindor and the other of Kipnis/Ramirez at 2B

Re: Jose Ramirez

Jose Ramirez has a long way to go.  He isn't exactly a physical specimen, so he is going to have to show if he can drive the ball as he progresses up the ladder.  He is a guy to watch and looks like a true overachiever, but let's be realistic here- right now, he looks to hit for average, but the pop is marginal and he is going to have to get stronger and improve his strike zone judgement.  He looks like he can make contact, so he has that going for him.  He is going to have to add some serious strength, though, that will be difficult at 5'8" and trying to stay limber enough to man an infield position.

Re: Jose Ramirez

If by long way you mean maybe 2 years max then sure, he doesn't have to be a physical specimen to hit for average and get on base like he has, not to mention he's hitting for some power. Im not sure how much more judgement he needs to show at 40 % OBP and only striking out 23 times last year

Sounds like you have absolutely no idea whatsoever of who jose ramirez is

Im still laughing at a 40 OBPer and minimal strikeouts needing to show more judgement

Right. I am sure the Indians are going to add a 20 year old with no experience above A ball that plays a position of strength in the organization to the 40 man roster at all, let alone the big league club.

Please study MLB roster rules and minor league, track records of successful players to determine how stupid of a suggestion this is.

I'm not sure why you're arguing against a proven fact. Stop being a troll. This is his board, and we are all blessed to share in his knowledge.

+1

Ramirez would have to blow them away in minor league Spring Training just to maybe get a shot of being brought over to the big league side toward the end of Spring just for a 1 or 2 game look JMHO.
