Projected Line ups and Rotations?
any ideas? for me
LF Brantley 2B Kipnis SS ACab RF Swisher C Santana 1B Reynolds 3B Chisenhall DH Platoon CF Stubbs
DH Platoon will probably be between Santana when he's not catching, Aviles, McGuiness if they keep him around, or Reynolds if they go after another OF
Adam LaRoche is still out there if they want to use him or Reynolds as a full time DH same with Carlos Lee, Juan Rivera, Delmon Young, and Luke Scott
Rotation
1-Masterson or FA signing 2-Bauer 3-McCallister 4-Jimenez 5-Many diffrent guys
the Tribe right now are still looking for another SP, some names on the FA market are Kyle Loshe (would be #1) Shawn Marcum (would be #3) Dice K (would be #5) Jair Jurrjens (would be #5) plus theres Salazar, Kluber, and Carrassco
theres also Scott Kazmir who is back up to throwing 94 and struk out over 30% of the batters he faced in Winter League
Loshe would be a Swisher type Homerun guy and it moves Masterson to the #3 spot and Jimenez to the #5 spot where they could dominate

Re: Projected Line ups and Rotations?
With Kipnis,Astrocab,Swisher,Reynolds and Santana likely to hit 20-25 homers it will at least be a fun lineup to watch.

Re: Projected Line ups and Rotations?
i would even consider switching Santana and Reynolds at times Reynolds was clutch last year in Baltimore with a runner on 3rd he had a .970 OPS, with a runner on 3rd and 2 out he had a 1.323 OPS and you have to pitch to him or face Santana, who if he learns how to hit a breaking pitch, will be scary good

RE: Projected Line ups and Rotations?
A bit tough to project this but I believe they are not done. They offered Edwin Jackson a contract while the offer was on the table for Swisher, which makes me believe they will go hard after either Marcum or Lohse. I think the Swisher signing will only help the Indians attract one of these two guys.
I also think it's possible they go after a DH. I would love trading for Soriano from the Cubs, that would give us an incredible lineup if we are willing to part with some prospects. However, other options include Berkman, Hafner, and Thome, which all have risks of injury. I think Young could also be a good asset as a 4th OF/DH guy. It is possible they use DH as a rotation but if they can find the right guy, they should do a dedicated DH. Someone with the power of Soriano would work better as a cleanup hitter instead of Santana/Swisher/Reynolds. Right now I don't really like any of those guys in cleanup.
Hoping Stubbs has a bounceback year. If he hits like it's 2010 he can be a great asset. However not sure what was with 2011-2012. I heard he may have been injured?
In any case they could find a good lefty to platoon with Stubbs or just go with him full time. I think he's a great defensive CF that might make sense to play full time and hope he can figure things out at the plate.
Honestly I really hope they go for Lohse/Marcum first and then try for a cheap but good DH option via trade. I think its possible they trade Cabrera but part of me doesn't want to see that... as Cabrera would really help us as is.
I am glad we aren't doing a "conventional" rebuild, as I'd hate to sit through that and watch it.
As far as rotation goes, I think it will look something like this:
1-Masterson 2-Lohse or Marcum or other FA/trade option 3-McCallister 4-Jimenez 5-Carrasco
Not entirely sure they will throw Bauer in the mix right away. If they do it will be at 4/5. Don't want to pressure the kid.
Also Carrasco could be higher up if he's fully healed up.

Re: Projected Line ups and Rotations?
these numbers jump around a lot year to year due to small sample sizes.
in 2011, those numbers were 1.149 and .608 in 2010, 1.431 and .572 in 2009, .277 and 1.006

RE: Projected Line ups and Rotations?
Brantley Cabrera Kipnis Swisher Reynolds Chisenhall Santana Carp or Justin Smoak in a trade (DH) Stubbs
I love Stubbs speed at the bottom of the lineup. I'd try to trade for Smoak or Carp to DH, who aren't gonna get playing time in SEA, now that they got Morales(1b), Ibanez(RF), and already have Montero DHing.
Aviles Marson or Yan Gomes McDade or McGuiness Carrera
Masterson Kyle Lohse/Chris Capuano/Joe Saunders (Lohse would be ace if he signed here) McAllister Ubaldo Bauer or Carrasco (Depends on who wins it out of Spring)
I LOVE Kyle Lohse. If we sign him, I think we WILL win the Division. Esp. if Ubaldo has a decent enough season. I'd really like the very available Chris Capuano from the stacked LAD team, who we're interested in. Saunders would be a solid innings eater too. Hope we don't trade Masterson.
C. Perez Pestano Smith Shaw C. Allen Albers/Hagadone/Huff Scott Barnes
I would trade one of the rightys in the pen (preferrably Albers, throw in a prospect for a DH like Carp/Smoak) and add either David Huff or Hagadone in the pen so we can have a couple leftys.
I think what I just wrote is a playoff team.

Also Carrasco could be higher up if he's fully healed up. Loshe would take the Ace spot over masterson if he looks in ST like he did last year, and its not even close. Bauer will more then likley be thrown in righ away, theres nothing more to see from him in the minor league level and he has nothing to prove.

I think what I just wrote is a playoff team. 1) No chance Santana bats that low 2) No chance Chisenhall bats ahead of Santana 3) Why would we trade away a guy who just had a 2.39 ERA out of the pen last year? He had a better ERA and .03 higher WHIP then Pestano, a much better ERA then Perez and the same WHIP, dont see him going anywhere anytime soon, too valuable.

Re: Projected Line ups and Rotations?
Dallas Braden is still on the Market, was a 3.50 ERA guy the last full season he pitched, wa a 3.00 ERA guy the season before he got injured.
Carlos Lee is still out there, had 40 Extra base hits
i would even give Grady Sizemore a look on the very cheap as a DH, he seemed to get hurt in the field, he might be ok when he just has to hit

Disagreeing with someone does not mean a lack of respect. And plenty of posters agree with plenty of his posts. He said that the numbers for hitting with 2-outs and men on fluctuate wildly year by year due to sample size. He is right and used facts to back up his opinion. He was not trolling. You currently are.

Sizemore had another micro-fracture surgery in September so won't be ready to play until late in the season, if he plays at all.

He simply disagreed with you. And if you can't handle people disagreeing with your opinions, then a sports forum (or any forum for that matter) is not a good venue for you.
And yes, buddy is a well respected poster on this forum and of course there is no poster on this forum that everyone agrees with 100% of the time.
I suggest you tone it down a bit if you want to remain a poster on this forum. The one thing the moderators don't tolerate is attacking other posters.
