Right Handed Bat.I do not know if everyone caught this one but Goedert is gone signed as a Free Agent by the Pirates.

Bay will most likely be a minor league deal for some team. If our FO were competent, I wouldn't mind seeing them give him a minor league deal, but the problem with this organization is that he most like would make the team without winning it. That being said, maybe Francona brings some sanity back to those types of signings.

If he reaches 500 PA this year a second year option will vest that will give him $10 million. So if Youk comes back and plays a full season and hits all his incentives he can make 2/$20. If he ends up being a bust we are only eating $5 mil on one year, something we seem to like to do anyways.

And, if I were running the front office, I would do that. That would settle 1B, and then we can focus on trading for a pitcher and a couple of young outfielders who can hit the ball. The only thing that would change my mind is if they can pry Olt away from Texas for Choo, they could then put him at 1B.
