Alright, I over reacted to those numbers originally. I'll go for 3/5 of the starts for Hanigun.  60 %.  Near what it is now probably.  Would like to see hanigun catch homer and leake or whomever is #5 some too.  So I don't know 68%.  Won't matter if we can't hit.

We'll agree to disagree rd, too bad that is not the only problem we have.  It is not as bad as the lf/3rd production we've had, till late.

edit:  We have the best pen in baseball whoever catches, don't forget that stat.

Lance McAlister @ LanceMcAlister # Reds and Melvin Mora? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/

Venezuelan Links: Mora, Escobar, Cervelli

By Nick Collias [May 17 at 7:48pm CST]

A trio of venezolanos try to claw their way back to la gran carpa. Yes, that literally translates to "the big carp," but it also means "the big top." Links are in Spanish...

  • Melvin Mora will fly to the states this weekend to begin negotiations with the Giants and Reds, the 40-year-old utilityman told Jonathan Costa Hernández at Líder en Deportes. Mora said his agent received offers from both teams last week, but he didn't yet know the terms. "I haven't had much time for that, due to the kids," Mora said, in reference to his 11-year-old quintuplets.

Cody Puckett was promoted to AAA and has gone 3-5, stole a base so far playing 2nd tonight. He hits wrisp and pop in AAA like he is now and I would let him get his cup o coffee and give him a look in cincy, in the OF and utility, ph. I know it is not the farm thread, but I like this kid, he may be able to help this year.

Dusty on why he is using Ludwick at DH this weekend...

“I know everybody wants me to play the guy who’s hot, but what happens when the guy who’s hot gets cold and the cold guy never gets lukewarm because he’s not playing?”

Am I the only one that thinks that statement should be a fireable offense?

Bad news guys.  The Reds traded Koyie Hill back to the Cubbies for cash.  Not sure how we can win the WS with just Mezo, Hernanigans, mustache, and that other dude we have at AAA.

(PS. When the hell did we pick up Koyie Hill and why?  Why do the Cubbies want him back?  Dude is hitting 195 in AA)

Yes, but it isn't the first time he has said it.  It is the same as batting Bruce 5th IN CASE the other team brings in a LHP for 1 inning late in the game.

I really hate this organization.  Just when you thought they had it figured out and were making some progress in the off season the season starts and you can see its the same Ol BS behind the controls.  Its like they have a 5 year old driving a $100k car.  I'll be honest I haven't watched much since about the first 2 weeks of the season because I am so tired of seeing status quo and the continued moronic adventures of Dusty Baker.

Chapman is the biggest waste of money the Reds have spent since Griffey or well Madsen.  If they are not going to use him as a starter then just freakin trade him now while his value is through the roof and get something for him.

If they ever do make him into a starter you know there is going to be a bumpy road to some degree his first season maybe 2.  By the time he gets the kinks out and is living up to some sort of potential he is gone to the Free Agent market.  Basically the Reds gave him all that money to train him for the Yankees is what it looks like its going to boil down to.

I sort of wondered why they traded for Latos in the off season because essentially all that did was cement the fact that Chapman would NOT be a starter.

Looks like Chapman will pitch the 9th.  Dusty couldn't wait to get Marshall out of the closer spot, not that I think he was a good closer.  But he is no worse than Cordero was.

Amazing, isn't it.  Not only that, but he has Marshall pitch to 1 hitter.  Also, he pitches Chapman when he says he wasn't available.

Re: 2012 Red's Rumors / Roster Moves ........Going All In #2

The Reds may not be among baseball's elite, but with the right management (both front office and baseball-wise), they could be very close.

Instead, it looks like they will languish between average and slightly above average.

Chapman not being in the rotation this year is a horrible, unexcusable, unfathomable travesty.

I could care less if their top 6 bullpen guys blew their arms out. When you have, potentially, one of the most DOMINANT pitchers in the game, you get innings out of him. The reds management continues to spew this crap of "We need him in the bullpen this year, blah blah blah" It's utter horse s**t and in all honesty is ruining this season for me.

Frustrating.

I think the .....hell, board will agree with the dusty comment one way or another.  Patience.

On chappy, I expected him to close if he didn't start.  When madson went down, chappy's starter days went too.  It doesn't bother me near as much as our whimpy hitting till late.  But uhhhhh, him closing .....minimizes someone's ability to misuse him.

As the cards fade slowly into the sunset.
