Fwiw, that is my Gandma's Grandpa (i think). I will have my family check page and confirm exact relation, but either her grandpa or father.
Will post pics of my 100 yr old gma tomorrow, along with opening day stuff from last yr. She turns 101 april 1st (no fooling), and will certainly be there if she still is!
Either way, that is the origin of my handle. Seems a better fit than my former reference to my fraternity from 1994.
And now I want a cigar! Thanks Kid!

Anytime. Seriously, I did remember those boxes from my grandpa. And dad, and my friends dads. lmao. That pix of gg granddad was on ebay actually, let me cut and paste. I "binged" ibold black pete cigarboxes pictures....i thinks.

That would be my grandma's gross-papa (grandpa), so my Great great Grandpa Ibold  Thats my grandma above with my family last April the day after her party.  Grandma still likes a nitecap of whiskey with me when I visit! and a couple from last yrs opening day to make this more Reds related!

No, not to my knowledge. Also, family sold the name to larger corp over 50 yrs ago (at least).
Sorta like the movie Tommy Boy -- big corp just wants the brand name and will make cheaper product to put into the box with the recognizable name. Not that the quality of the Black Pete was all that great to begin with...
