Some serious added production. Dusty cannot hit Stubbs at the top of the line-up if he's with the Indians. lol

Not taking credit for the below, just thought it was worth sharing after reading:

For Choo, playing in a hitter's park in walk year would very much please him and agent Scott Boras.

The fact that one player would make a team that won 97 games jump that much just shows how flawed this team was last season and why they could not stand pat this offseason

You make a very good point. With Choo in the fold, Walt will be looking to add to his bench with the second player.

My guess is that if Walt cannot get the pinch hitter/role player he's looking for (likely his priority), it'll be a young arm from their system.

I'll follow the reds reporter proposed trade on dec 3rd (had bailey and heisey for choo) and added Hagadone (lh rp)

Wish even more than Stubbs and Didi we could have sweettalked a Heisey, Cozart, Corcino, Ondrusek, and neftali soto deal... but then i'd be worth more than walt -- it'd take a friggin jedi mind trick to get that one done.

But i do wonder what the tribe will get for Didi or Asdrubal from the DBacks if this goes through. If we could keep Didi and trade him plus parts for trevor bauer, walt would really be freakin yoda

I know. We couldn't expect to win that many games this year if we kept the team pretty much the same, We have to improve our OBP at the top of the order.

As much potential as Bauer has, he doesn't improve our team. We have to get a LO hitter for this year.

From Rosenthal:

Three-team trade, per source, will look like this: Choo, Jason Donald to # Reds, Gregorius to # Diamondbacks, Stubbs, AZ pitcher to # Indians.

Corbin, Skaggs and Bauer were among #Diamondbacks pitchers who were in play. #Indians would get one in this deal; Skaggs unlikely.

Well, I guess Donald will be our backup SS. He had a good year in 2011.

Jason Donald is also a Boras client, but is under control through 2017. A utility man, in 2012 he played, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, & CF.

Donald Stats

Sorry if my horrible approach to communication misled you, but I was hoping for a trade that netted Choo from AZ, kept Didi, then we (the Reds) dealt Didi for Bauer.

as I reread my post, it was clearly unclear.  dunno, must have been mimicking Kid or something!  wink

RE: Stubbs and DiDi for Shin-Soo Choo?

Okay, here are the locks as I see it...

C - Hanigan, Mesoraco
1B - Votto
2B - Phillips
SS - Cozart, Donald
3B - Frazier
LF - Ludwick, Paul
CF - Choo, Heisey
RF - Bruce

SP - Cueto, Latos, Bailey, Chapman, Arroyo
LR - Lecure, Simon
RP - Arredondo, Masset
SU - Marshall, Hoover
CL - Broxton

That leaves one roster spot for the likes of: Ondrusek, Leake, Cingrani, Redmond, Rodriguez, Burriss

Does Rolen return as the backup 3B?

Re: Stubbs and DiDi for Shin-Soo Choo?

Maybe not so important to us fans, but it's a great international marketing opportunity for the Reds. I lived in South Korea until last year, and they really embrace their guys who go on to the MLB. It was amazing how much Cleveland Indians gear started popping up while I was there. Any time I told a Korean I was from Ohio, they asked, "You know Shin-Soo Choo? Choo-choo train!"

I'm sorry but this is a dream scenario and anyone who isn't for this just doesn't want to win in 2013. I hope to God this goes through, something tells me it won't though...still seems too cheap to me for some reason.
