No way does adding Fowler and losing Homer make us better. So you move Leake up to #4? Who is your # 5 starter? I know the lead off hitter was a huge hole but Stubbs played great defense in Center and had some pop for the position. Understand he inability to put the ball in play was a big issue but taking Homer out of the rotation creates a far bigger hole and has a far bigger impact on W's & L's.
Homer is getting better every year. He has really started to come into his own over the last two seas on's. No way you deal a potential ace or at worst a #2, 3 starter for Fowler.
Pitching is King in baseball, period.

Yes, because I think both of those trades would have made us better. You are acting like I am just trying to give him away.

I think it is way to big of a risk. Latos is a different story. I have no problem signing him to a big contract.
Instance #1 - A couple of years ago you were perfectly willing to trade him for Corey Hart. You didn't like Homer's 'attitude' and he was never going to live up to expectations. We had that debate.
Instance #2 - Unless I'm mistaken, you were also OK with including him (or Leake) in a deal for Fowler.
