Ryno gets called up
Congrats to Ryno, who's been promoted to the Phillies ML Club as 3B coach and infield instructor. Many say the Phillies brass really likes him and he's the heir apparent to Manuel in 2014. He's worked hard for many years in the minors, it's nice to see the Phillies value his ability. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicag...-coaching-staff

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicag...-coaching-staff Obviously by your tone, you are implying that the Cubs brass did not when nothing can be further from the case. Remember, Theo offered him a job coaching the Boston AAA club when he left the Cubs after the 2009 season. Ryno just decided to coach with the Phillies since he had been a member of that organization before. Great for Ryno. Really has nothing to do with the Cubs and quite frankly, I am sick of the "Cubbie Connection" being a pre-application for any job with the Cubs organization for some fans.

Re: Ryno gets called up
Sources say he requested to keep his old uniform if he took the position.

No issues with Theo not offering him a job, but I do blame Hendry for not promoting him to the majors as a manager or even a coach after 4 years in the system.

Think he did Ryno a favor considering what shape the team was in. Also would have been impossible for him to be a coach with someone else as the manager. Everyone would be screaming for Ryno to be the manager if the team went 1-2 in it's first three games.

I'm happy for Ryne and I'm so glad that he isn't anywhere near this ******* mess with the Cubs. Sure do hope one day I see him managing our Cubs.

Like someone said in another thread, it's typical to bring up personnel you are fimiliar with.
