Without looking, try and guess the mystery player....if you multiply the at bats x2 you are very close in production. A very disappointing Jose Reyes.

Seems to me this is a pretty sizable difference. Not trying to bash Anthony--I love the kid and he's only 23!

Re: Rizzo vs, ???
Really the main difference between the two is OBP. That said, .050 OBP difference is kind of a big deal.

A very disappointing Jose Reyes. disappointing for the money maybe...but both are out-producing most of the major league shortstops

Rizzo's production over a whole year overall would be very similiar to Prince's (assuming he hit at the same pace). Like someone said correct earlier, the one major difference is OPS and 50 points is a big deal. But like you said, Rizzo is 23 and he should improve in the walk dept. (He already has). And of course, Rizzo is leaps and bounds better defensively then Fielder so when looking at a player's worth, that has to accounted for too.

HawkCrazy420 wrote: disappointing for the money maybe...but both are out-producing most of the major league shortstops If Castro continues to work at what Theo and company want him to do, he will be within a few years one of the best producing shortstops in baseball since the Needle Era back in the early 2000's. I easily see him as a guy that can be in the .300's with low 20's HR and all kinds of extra base hits to go along with 25+ SB.

Small samole size to be sure, but even the eye test tells you that Rizzo is much better in the field.

For the money, yes. $106M for 6 years...yikes.

If you use Fangraphs - Fielder 4.3 WAR - Rizzo 1.7 WAR Rizzo fits in better with the method the Cubs decided to do the rebuild. Lets hope he continues to develop and shows progress next year.
