They signed a guy from the Canadian Football League?  Not sure that's the best use of the Int'l spending pool.  Might be time for Crane Kenney to get involved on the baseball side a bit.

Per the article, the guy was in the amateur draft, so is not part of the international spending pool. As long as the guy got a signing bonus of 100k or less, he didn't eat into the available first-year-draft pool for the Cubs for this year either.

That said, the guy was in the amateur draft....and went completely undrafted. I am guessing the success rate for these guys is not really high.

With Dumpster gone, they needed to fill up their Canadian quota. Hopefully he won't be as annoying.

Actually, as an undrafted free agent, it would be impressive if he even makes it to A ball.  Hope he surprises us all.
