The position he plays. The pitcher is 1. So if the say an Error is E1, it is an error on the pitcher.

1 - Pitcher
2 - Catcher
3 - First Base
4 - Second Base
5 - Third Base
6 - Shortstop
7 - Left Field
8 - Center Field
9 - Right Field

And a 6-4-3 double play is Tinker to Evers to Chance.

Hopefully Castro to Baez to Rizzo will soon be more famous.  Or Russell to Castro to Rizzo.

Cubs are on pace for 18 strikeouts tonight.   Are they shooting for another record?

Wheeler has good stuff, so I'll give the Cubs a pass in this case.

Re: Cubs vs Mets

Baez breaks his K streak with a hard hit single to center, and Wood who walked went all the way to third with Baez taking second.

Rizzo scores Wood on a grounder to second, and Castro comes through with a single up the middle to score Baez.

Re: Cubs vs Mets

Alcantara needs to square up some pitches...a lot of weak contact...especially weak flyouts

2-0 Cubs

Castro has become a singles machine

Re: Cubs vs Mets

am interested to see Baez bat with hopefully the lead, I noticed in a couple games he seems to take more pitches when ahead

Re: Cubs vs Mets

All of a sudden Wood can't find the plate and walked the first two in the 4th inning.

This is why Wood hasn't won in two months.  This is why I like Hendricks.  3-2 Mets

Re: Cubs vs Mets

Since Baez isn't going to walk, he should jump on that first pitch fastball down the middle they keep throwing him.  Or learn that they're not going to throw a strike from there until he does take a walk.

Re: Cubs vs Mets

Time for Javy to adjust again...they are throwing 1st pitch strikes and he is laying off...similar to how Castro did last year

Len and JD sound exasperated with every swing and miss.  It's growing pains.  Deal with it.

Re: Cubs vs Mets

He swings so hard at times that he can't even keep his eyes on the ball and is nowhere close to making contact. He's got to shorten up with 2 strikes or find some happy medium if he wants sustained success. All part of adjustments he will have to make. At least he's up here and can learn through experience.
