I dont think its insulting to the cubs...how do you mean? That being said rizzo is a raging raging dbag for playing for italy.

Castro not getting a spot on the DR team shows just how scary that team is, at least on paper.

To me, when our best player can't make a country's team, then whoa we got a long ways to go to be the best team in all of baseball.

Castro was invited to join the DR team but declined because Reyes is on the team and Starlin doesn't want to ride the bench when he should be training for the season.  Tough call on his part but a good call.

It's weird that you don't look anything up before calling someone "a dbag to the highest degree."

His great-grandfather is from Sicily, which is how Rizzo was selected.

"Obviously, I'd love to play for [the U.S. team], that was my first choice, but they have all the 'mon-stars' on there," Rizzo said during a Cubs Caravan stop. "Italy is a great opportunity. I come from a strong Italian background. It's a pretty cool experience."

He would've been joined by Cubs outfielder Tony Campana on the Italian squad.

"Campana was going to play, but he couldn't find his paperwork," Rizzo said.

The catch, Campana said, was that he couldn't produce a birth certificate for his grandparents.
