I repeat what I've been saying all along: Bourjos can (and should) be had.

5 years is not bad. The money might be ridicilous especially at the end.

Re: Hamilton to Angels 5years, $125M

don't really understand this move for the LAA other than trying to outdo the LAD.

hitting was not their issue last year and they address that by getting rid of Haren, Grienke and Santana and replacing them with Tommy Hanson?

unless they plan for Trumbo to go back to 3rd he seems to be without a position.

They could also trade Trumbo as well.

He had 32 HR and 95 RBI - are you gaining much by replacing him with Hamilton?

I supposed they could put him in RF and go with a killer outfield of Trumbo, Trout, and Hamilton

True but you could get a small King's ransom for his services as well in a trade. It is always best too acquire to much talent then it is to not have enough LOL!

Didn't Trumbo play right as well last year? Maybe they are thinking a Hamilton/Trout/Trumbo outfield and hoping that Trout in CF can offset any defensive problems.

Sign me up, Cubby.  A Chicago kid that is now truly roadblocked in Anaheim.  Remember, they still have Vernon Wells and Kendrys Morales.

The problem is what will they want?  Marmol makes less sense now given then signed Burnett and Madson. They still have 2 solid arms in Frieri and Walden.
Go away Cubs2007, no one cares what you have to say!!!!!

My question about Bourjos (whom I like), aside from how we match up in a trade, is how would that affect the outfield depth and outlook.  You move Jackson to left assuming he isn't used to get him?

Trumbo is a guy I'd be interested in making a couple of phone calls about. He's certainly far from a complete player, but he's not expensive and another power bat in the lineup would make the team just a little bit more watchable while we build this thing.

Trumbo had a huge season and will probably cost a mint if he's traded.  I'd love to add him but I'm not holding my breath.

Other teams asked about Mark Trumbo, and been told that he's not available; the Angels have said they are keeping him.

tell me more about this Bourjos fellow. I know nothing about him.

Bourjos is a defensive wiz (like Bourn-esque defensive value). He has upside at the dish, too, and has achieved some offensive success in the majors. His power output is limited to the gaps, but he's a burner. But his defense truly is difference making. I think his value projected to like 7 WAR in 650 at bats. He'd be a brilliant acquisition. He's probably more valuable than Bourn, 5 or 6 years younger, and cost controlled.

RE: Hamilton to Angels 5years, $125M

He is only 25 years Old

2 years ago .271 Avg .327 OBP .438 slg

26 Dbs 11 Trs 12 Hrs

Last year struggled Avg dropped to .220  and was basicly a 4th OF for the Angels

An elite golden Glove calibre CF who played CF over Trout when in the lineup.

If he is expendable I think a decent player to try to pick up.  He greatest assets would probably defense\great arm and speed and a bit of pop in the bat but not great power.

The Angels intended on using him as their starting CF and I don't see this trade changing that. They will have Hamilton, Bourjos and Trout in the OF. Put Trumbo at 3b and use Wells as an expensive bench player. Morales will DH. They could make a trade but the Cubs don't match up because they are looking for young mlb ready pitching which is what the Cubs lack.

He played at 3b for eight games last year and had four errors.  It is not practical to put him there.  Their outfield will be Trout in CF (where he played 110 games), Trumbo in LF, and Hamilton in RF.

Baez has "top-shelf bat speed," according to one National League scout who recently saw him play. "I haven't seen that type of bat speed this year outside of the big leagues. It's pure, unadulterated, just violent bat-speed."
