Thank You Baltimore Orioles!

A big thank you! You put Baltimore back on the MLB map. Anyone know when the train arrives into the Bmore area and what station? Linthicum?

Thanks for making the 2nd half of Summer and early fall so enjoyable. Always such a buzz kill to have nothing good to watch between July and the start of football, the O's really helped the long hot, and dry Summer go by fast.

I believe I've been posting here since 2005. After all these years of us dying for something to cheer about, THIS team finally gave that to us. Thank you, Orioles! We will always be the best fans in baseball and I hope one day we get back to the promised land. I believe in this core group of players, led by Buck, to win it all. They're going to come back in 2013 hungry and experienced, ready to take the league by storm again.

GO O'S!!!!!

...and yet we were just one or two hits from a key player away from taking this series. Yanks got the big plays (Tex stolen base...Ibanez with all the clutch hits and slumping Granderson hitting a big HR) and we didn't get enough of them. When this series started I don't think many of us felt our weakness would be hitting...it would be pitching. turned out to be just the opposite.

You bring up a good point by only mentioning the 2nd half being so enjoyable.

I'll bet a good number of us wanted to enjoy the first half more, but were affraid to open our hearts up again as we expected the annual plumet to obscurity.

But then they didn't do that! They just kept going, and getting better!

What they really accomplished was giving us a way to enjoy the first half of the 2013 season, by giving us hope that the 2nd half won't be another predictable let down.

For the first time in a long time, I'm looking forward to enjoying April baseball next year with a legitimate chance of it going somewhere!

I live in Connecticut and have been an Orioles fan since 1960........this past year was the fun for me since most of my neighbors/friends are Red Sox or Yankees fans......we beat-up the Red Sox and competed with the Yankess who have a much higher payroll.  Thank you Orioles, you made my summer real enjoyable!!!!!

" Once proud franchise "  We have heard that label more then we want to remember these last 15 years. Now we are a "  Proud Franchise " once again.

From the outset it was Buck's main objective, to restore pride to the organization. He did it in two years.

It was absolutely great to watch each and every game in August, September, and OCTOBER.

The respect I have for Buck is almost too much for words.

I'd like to see him get a lifetime contract. Hyperbole I know but damn is that guy great.

RE: Thank You Baltimore Orioles!

The end was disappointing, but they went head to head with the Yankees all season and lost by a nose.

Looking back on the year, that hardly seems relevant though. They restored Baltimore's reputation as a baseball city, rejuvenated the fan base, and showed the young Baltimoreans how much fun the Orioles can be. FAs won't laugh at us anymore, Yankee fans won't equal our numbers anymore, and opposing teams won't treat us as a pushover.

We're a well-managed ball club from the front office down to the outstanding ML coaching staff, and down through the minor league development system that Duquette is implementing.

Feeling the energy in Camden Yards during September and October both in person and on TV was a sight I'll never forget.
