And this is after a big song and dance the Yankees did yesterday about how sitting him for a game or two was 'normal rest' to address typical wear and tear issues.

Laugh all you want but here is something funny. BROB is providing more offense than our second basemen.

yeah---before we get all self righteous about this...I actually thought BRob was doing a decent job AND he was playing everyday. What gives? And they got nothing for him?
Something doesn't pass the sniff test.

Apparently large sums of money make him hurt.

Call me crazy, but if we're still in the hunt come September, I can't think of a more deserving guy to be a Sep Callup for us than B-Rob...

Crazy? No, not at all. I would bring him in here tomorrow in a heart beat.

I'd like to bring him back as a bench player. Only question I have is could he still steal or defend second?

What would be the point of brining him in for the bench. He is either an upgrade offensively over Schoop and Flaherty or he is not. If he is then you play him. If he isn't then you don't put him on the team.

Reimold isn't a bad player when he's healthy ... He's just a liability with injuries.

He would be an extra body on the 40 man roster. If he is at least somewhat better than the other two then it's not really a bad pickup.

Re: Brian Roberts DFA'ed

Schoop is starting to wear down. Its blasphemy I know, but down the stretch I'd rather see Roberts than Flaherty. A healthy Roberts that is. I think the O's overrate Flaherty's 'd' to some extent. Actually, Roberts probably isn't in the plans but I wonder about Lombardozzi??

Brittany Giroli said yesterday that someone in the O's organization, when asked about acquiring Roberts said, "That ship has sailed."  Thank goodness.

Re: Brian Roberts DFA'ed

I got the impression he signed with NYY without giving the O's a chance to match

in which case I could see them shutting him out

he's pretty much done anyway

But than again Schoop could go out and break his leg tonight so never say never
