Rochester Playing the Tides Tonite

Rochester Playing the Tides Tonite

No big league games tonite...so lets look in on how the AAA O's are doing against the AAA Twins.
End of the 5th inning...3-3. Miguel Gonzalez pitching for Norfolk and Yohan Pino going for Rochester. Tides have 2 hits but Pino has walked 5. Xavier Paul has a 3 run HR for all the Tides runs. Paul has 12 HR's so far this year.

Wings have 5 hits including a rare HR by Aussie James Beresford.

Wings pitchers were terrible. They walked the ballpark. Tides win 7-4 and they only got 5 hits. Wings giftwrapped most the runs. From my perspective, it was a terrible game...poorly played. From the Tides view...they didn't waste opportunities. Gonzalez was pretty decent in his 6 innings of work.

Tides win again tonite in walkoff fashion as the Red Wings continue to play very sloppy ball and their bullpen continues to falter.

Funny story. Randy Wolf's last game in the organization...he was on the mound and he wound up and threw a pitch way over the backstop and nearly clear out of the park! Yeah it was intentional. Why? Who knows. Probably figured he was gone anyway,

Re: Rochester Playing the Tides Tonite

Tides won the series from Rochester 3-1, but honestly they aren't a very impressive looking bunch at all. they caught Rochester in a major funk. They were handed the walk-off game on gift walks, and a sawed off bloop hit that should have been an out. First night they scored tie breaking runs on walks and errors. 3rd game they legitimately won, with decent pitching and Wings complete lack of getting any kind of offense going. However even there, they broke open a 1-0 game in the 7th with 3 walks, a passed ball, a bloop hit..before the bases loaded liner by the rookie. final game Rochester won in a 14-2 blowout.

If you can look lousy winning 3 of 4---well there you are. To be fair, Rochester looked even worse. Much worse. Right now there is very little on the farm that can help the O's this season. (I never checked on the whereabouts of Casilla? Is he still on the team?)
