Re: Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays [? -?-?]

In April we won two out of three in Tampa Bay and again when we played them at Camden Yards.  We need a repeat performance this weekend.

Seeing Brooks Robinson reminds us of a time when everything was good for the Orioles. When players played for the love of the game and were proud to be called a Baltimore Oriole.

Indeed. TB has been playing better and the O's not so much.  Need to get back to our winning ways.

Reimold is sitting again today, this time in favor of Chris Dickerson. We'll also get our first look at Yamaico Navarro, who's starting at second base tonight.

Makes me wonder if something is in the works with Reimold? Injured? Trade?

Re: Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays [? -?-?]

Is there any starter on this team that can freaking pitch?  Hammel is getting hammered and throwing a bazillion pitches and still the third inning.

Updated: 73 pitches in only 3 innings. This is going kill this team. Jason better find a way to settle down and get a couple more innings in or this could be a loooonnnnngggg weekend. Guess I am glad I am headed out fishing starting tomorrow. Can't watch much more of this.

Offensively this team can come back, they have done it often enough. But the starting pitchers are not helping.

Re: Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays [? -?-?]

Can someone explain to me what in the heck Navarro is doing on this team. In 150  career at bats he has an average below the Mendoza line, all of 2 HRs, and 0 SBs. That now gives us three guys at 2B that all stink at the plate. What the heck is management doing? Seriously why is this guy on the roster? I have to be missing something because when you have a team that is woeful at the bottom of the lineup what purpose does another woeful bottom of the lineup hitter bring to the team. Is this supposed to spark them somehow.

We couldn't do this in front of a crowd of 14,000, no....we have to wait until we have 38,000 redface

Re: Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays [? -?-?]

Well we got a 5 spot here in the 8th. Even if they don't come all the way back this might be what they needed to get them out of their funk. biggrin

But the pitching is still a problem that needs to be corrected soon. Right now the SP looks woeful and even Tillman is throwing a ton of pitches albeit its working for him.

He looked good yesterday. He hadn't figured out ML pitching with Pittsburgh obviously, but I suppose his good numbers in AAA make them think that he'll figure it out.

Honestly, I'd take pretty much anyone over Flaherty at this point.

Casilla is the guy. Just a matter of time.

Jurrjens better bring some good pitching with him today.

Re: Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays [L -?-?]

Reimold is batting .133 for the month of May.

These seven will keep us in most games, when given a chance.

Nate McLouth LF
Manny Machado 3B
Nick Markakis RF
Adam Jones CF
Chris Davis 1B
Matt Wieters C
J.J. Hardy SS

This lineup includes 5 gold gloves plus soon to be a gold glove, Manny Machado.

Any thing from the bottom two is a bonus. The question is, where are all the live young arms we held onto this past winter because we didn't want to trade them?  Good question

mentioned it in another thread...time to give Valencia a shot. He can hit and I know he can also play 2nd base.
