Orioles linked to Delmon Young.....

Orioles linked to Delmon Young.....

Delmon Young.....  platoon with Mclough in LF and DH occasiaonly....

I don't even think he'd be overly expensive... 2 years 10 million would probably do it.
Losers whine about their best...... Winners go home and        %##%# the prom queen.

He'd be a good platoon DH with his .301 hitting against left handers. Can't remember if it was him that was a head case though.

I would say no personally as team work seems to be what makes the O's work well together. He has had problem every where that he has been.

Hell no. Crap OBP, already have Reimold, and Young hates Jews. Pass.

It's probably on Youtube where he, playing in the minors, threw his bat at the home plate umpire.

I would rather go with McLouth and Reimold than sign Young. He can hit but that's about it, and if he isn't getting the playing time, you don't know exactly what he might do. I suspect that the O's will have some sort of platoon with McLouth, Reimold and Betemit, with Reimold getting bats against lefties and giving a day off to McLouth every so often. And if Chris Davis struggles, you might see Reimold play some first base, too.

I know a lot of folks seem to be upset with the Orioles for losing Reynolds and not really replacing him on a 1 to 1 basis. But if guys like Markakis, Reimold and Roberts can stay healthy, and if AJ, Davis, Wieters and Machado can improve (except for BRob being healthy, none of these is a reach), I don't think the overall offense is going to suffer in terms of run scored.

But as the Earl used to say,"It all comes down to what happens on that little hump in the middle of the infield." If you tell me the offense will be better and the pitching will be worse, I'm not happy. But if you predict the pitching will be better and the offense worse, I can live with that. Good pitching gives you a chance to win, bad or mediocre pitching little chance.

Young and the Phillies agree to a one year $750,000 deal. Quite a drop from the $6.75 million he made last season with Detroit.

I read that he will get a $100 grand additional every time he stays under a certain weight and the Phillies can call for six weigh-ins this season.

He would have made more money if he

a) hadn't acted like an ignorant moron
b) could play defense at all (seriously I'd rather put Wieters in LF)
c) could hit RHPs at all (.708 OPS vs RHPs)
