Hip surgery in August or September, so he is supposed to be rehabbing it as soon as he is able.

He's going to make a go at it - the O's have nothing to gain from cutting him

personally I think the guys body is wrecked from roids if he comes back from the hip something else will just break down on him.

I'm OK with a platoon 2nd base as long as we take care of LF and 1B
...stay classy 'skins fans

acquiring Alexi Casilla from the Twins certainly does give some indication that the O's aren't sold on Roberts ever being able to play again. They are now collecting 2nd basemen...possibly for some trade options???

Orioles Ryan Adams was suspended for at least 50 games wich led the Orioles to pick up Casilla. They are said to be happy with Flaherty and Schoop long term but rumors have the Orioles and Rangers talking trade involving Kinsler.  http://www.thebaseballcube.com...p?P=Ian-Kinsler

Considering Adams wasn't on the 40 man, Casilla likely would have been claimed anyway.

Throw the 2 seamer for strikes dammit.

My timeline may be off but wasn't Casilla brought on before Adams was suspended? Organization was probably notified in advance.

Adams is also a 6-year minor league free agent so it's questionable that he would be back in the organization anyway, even without the 50 games suspension. My guess is that the O's will not re-sign him.

Schoop is most likely a 3b.

in fairness to Adams, it's the same drug guys like Willie Mays took... however his stats will never com into question.

Throw the 2 seamer for strikes dammit.

What is the rumor about Kinsler??  What would we have to give up for him?

I've not heard a thing about us looking at Kinsler. Where did this rumor come from?

Re: Brian Roberts (2013)

mlbtraderumors.com had a story that the Orioles where talking ground work for a possible trade to send Kinsler to the Orioles for Schoop and 2 other minor leaguers. Orioles than came out and said they are happy at 2ndbase.

I'm not sure how they're happy with andino and Flaherty. Those two don't make me warm and fuzzy. .

Re: Brian Roberts (2013)

Neither of those guys will be on the Orioles ML roster next year. For better or for worse, it's BRob's job to lose. And Casilla is a better player than Dino. Sadly, we've almost definitely seen the last of Robert Andino in an Orioles uniform. He'll be a FA by the end of November.
