Trestman's Ugly finish in SanFran

Last night Gruden said Trestman had an ugly finish in SanFran. Anyone know what's that is about?

Re: Trestman's Ugly finish in SanFran

surprisingly there are still are number of candid articles out there from way back in '95, '97 and '03:

1997 from players perspective: http://jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/081797/1c1rice_.html
1997 from Trestman's perspective: http://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/Trestman-Expects-Job-With-Lions-Fired-49ers-2858458.php
2003 from Raiders point of view on his past: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2003-01-16/sports/0301160379_1_trestman-minnesota-vikings-49ers
2003 from Trestman's perspective: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/01/23/sports/pro-football-trestman-gannon-and-a-long-strange-trip.html

the '97 SFGate article has another tibid that is hilarious and timely: "Matt Cavanaugh, the 49ers' quarterback coach for the last two seasons, accepted a job as offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears."

all excellent reads. somewhere I lost the '95 article, but it's as easy as Googling "marc trestman 49ers fired" to bring tons more like these up!

But I haven't yet seen any dirt on why Seifert decided to resign.  It's usual that a new HC brings in new coordinators, whether or not Jerry Rice hates the old OC.
P.S. After Trestman, Rice was never again an AllPro.

Trestman actually found out watching the press conference that he was fired on TV. He talked about in his book. To his credit, Carmen Policy (I believe was the GM then) later apologized to him and the other former assistants saying that was a mistake and should have not said anything about their fate until they were notified by him or by another top brass person.

I hope you are not suggesting what it sounds like you are suggesting.

This is Jerry Rice.

I always found it funny that rice played on the raiders when trestman was there after the 49ers

Trestman is a wide receiver too, think about it.

Wasn't being serious. I thought it was kind of funny.

How many 4 yard patterns did Marshall or Alshon run last year?  I don't recall a ton of them.

I meant it in the context of ... this is Jerry Rice we are talking about here....to suggest that Rice no longer being an all pro was because he no longer had Trestman...if that indeed  was the suggestion.....is pretty much meatballing.
