I remember when Pearl Jam had their war with them:

Still remember seeing them around 95'ish at some barn in the middle of nowhere because they were boycotting ticketmaster. They were bad asses back then! Of course I remember cheering when Eddie would rail against military spending and then go suck on Clinton's stogie, LOL! Oh well when we are young, we are all naïve and silly! biggrin

Re: Ticketmaster....

Single game Bears tickets went on sale today and I was ready to go exactly at 11:00.  Once I selected tickets, I had to wait 10 minutes for it to process my selection while telling me not to refresh or back up, then have it tell me it couldn't handle my request because the server was overloaded. By 11:15 everything was gone and I'm left having to pay StubHub prices.

How can the website for the world's leading ticket provider not be equipped to handle a large amount of requests?

Because they are a monopoly and don't care what happens just as long as the tickets get sold to someone whether it be a scalper or a fan. It's BS but regrettably Ticketmaster wasn't stop when it could have been and will be like this to the end of time. ohlord

I did the same, on there at 10:50 refreshing the screen. Go to search for 2 tickets straight away and after a minute wait it came back with none available. It appears pretty much only single seats available for about 10 mins, then all gone. Ended up going to stub hub and having to pay $300 for 2 seats in block 435. At least I get to see a Bears Packers game at Soldier Field for my 40th, I guess.

Holy crap man, that is more then the NFL ticket which I get every year now. eek1

I guess different strokes for different folks. I really stopped enjoy the game day experience a long time ago. Too much of a pain in the ass. I rather have a few family members and friends over then go to the game. But it's different strokes for different folks. Hopefully the Bears celebrate your 40th by stopping the Packers ass! biggrin

Re: Ticketmaster....

I remember my dad complaining about shelling out 15-20 bucks for a ticket back in the 70s.  Man, I have not been able to get to a game in Chicago since the 80s but I have seen them on the road and in London and it helps to have friends that work for the NFL or at Fox I have not paid for a ticket since the early 90s.

I enjoy watching them at home or at a bar more than going to a game because the TV coverage and HD has really made it difficult to justify going to games.  Even paying for the NFL ticket is cheaper than going to one game and you get all the games in your own house outside of Illinois.   I would however (if I lived in Chicago) try and get to every GB/CHI home game I could... the atmosphere for those games is worth the hassle.

You're lucky Pacey I hope Da Bears win that one!
