I voted Cutler.  I think he is primed for the best season of his career--2nd year under Trestman, two pro bowl WR's, pro bowl RB, excellent TE, solid O line...its now or never for Jay Cutty.  He needs to play all 16 games though!

I do think Rodgers can have another great year--if he stays healthy.  Stafford can put up some gaudy stats but he is going to be under new coaching this year so who knows how that will affect him.  The Vikings appear to be rudderless at the QB position and under new coaching as well so they are a huge question mark.

I voted for Dan Orlovsky just for fun. tongue

But I think Rodgers will have the best year just because they are still are more pass oriented then the Bears are. That said, I think Jay is set for a monster season!

I wanted to vote Rodgers simply because he's had the proven results for a few years now, and GB has also a found a capable ground attack.

But I'm gonna go for the homer vote and put Jay out there. With his arm and the #1 receiving duo in the league (soon to be #1 corps...), he should have a great year.

Anytime someone starts a thread about NFC North QB's we know where it is headed. I wasn't going to say anything anytime soon. I was just going to wait and see if it took anytime at all for the fireworks start, i'm guessing maybe 23 minutes or so. I really don't think it has a ghost of a chance to go much longer than that.

I voted Cutler as well.  I think he takes off this year and has better weapons than Rodgers

Hey it's just a poll asking people who they think is going to have the best year. Nothing more nothing less. We have a few really talented QB's in the division. I happen to think Cutler is going to have a great year but he would have to play all 16 games.

No. Ponder is the stud, Orlovsky is a bum. Where do you get your info from, Faux News? Can't you ever be objective?

I would have to have a brain the size of a peanut and an IQ of 33 to pick anyone but Aaron Rodgers. .

I voted Matt Stafford.

Because at first glance I thought it said which NFC North QB will have the breast year.

Re: NFC North QB's

I think we need to define "best year". Does that mean individual performance? If we are talking about who will have the best statistical season then I'm sorry, but the answer has to be Aaron Rodgers. I think Emery and Trestman have set up Cuter for success. I believe this is going to be Cutler's best season as a pro. With that said, if AR is healthy for 16 games he's going to throw for 4,000+ yards, 30-40 TDs, and less than 10 INTs. I don't see Cutler doing that.

I'll be perfectly fine with Jay having a stat line of 3,800 yards/25 TDs/12 INTs and the Bears winning the division. Then, I could care less what Rodgers does.

Re: NFC North QB's

Last year the division leading QB in terms of yards and TD's was Stafford (4,650/29).  Even Rodgers has never thrown for that many yards despite being in a pass happy system.  However he has put up some pretty gaudy numbers in the past and I guess he always could do so again.

Last year Cutler averaged 238 yards per game and that was his first year in the system.  If he had played all 16 games he was on pace to throw for probably 3,800 yards.  This year he will hopefully be even better and if he averages 33+ attempts per game I do think 4,000 yards is achievable...if he can play in all 16 games.

But yeah, I'd settle for less yards and a division win any day.

Re: NFC North QB's

Since no one defined "best year", and since this is a Bears site, I'll pick Cutler if for no other reason than cuz he plays for the Bears and not one of those other no-good teams.

LOL

Honestly, I think most of us would pick Rodgers to have most of the best stats cuz that's what he does, and that's what the Packers do. I think Cutler and the Bears will give those green scumbags a run for their money on stats though, and Cutler will have what I consider to be a "better year".

Cutler is a different QB than Rodgers. He plays the game a little differently. Its no disrespect to Rodgers, but I think Cutler is a little more "clutch" and will win more games this year, even if he doesn't win all the stats contests.

Re: NFC North QB's

Cutler's best statistical year was 2008 in Denver.

4526 yards / 25 TDs / 18 INTs / 7.3 YPA / 62.3% completions

Rodgers worst statistical year as a starter was probably his 1st year as a starter in 2008.

4038 yards / 28 TDs / 13 INTs / 7.5 YPA / 63.6% completions

If we are truly being objective, I think we can all acknowledge that Rodgers is a better QB than Cutler. Cutler will never be in the "elite" category with Rodgers, Manning, Brady, and Brees. Guess what, that's ok. Flacco has a ring, Eli and Big Ben have 2. With Trestman and all the weapons on offense, I think Cutler can certainly be in that next tier of QBs. That's good enough to win in this league and that's all that matters.

So, maybe the question should be:

What are the expectations for Cutler in 2014? What would be considered a good year in terms of statistics?
