It's amazing how quickly this league can chew you up and spit you out. I was really high on this guy at one point. I thought he had some real potential at guard even with the bum knee.

In hind sight, it looks like Emery was wise to trade him for a pick considering he was on his way out anyway. Oh well, looks like I was wrong.

It will be interesting to see if he gets another chance. This might be the end of the road.

It is also an indication of how much talent there is out there. Guys that just don't measure up are gone. You can replace them in a heartbeat.

RE: Gabe Carimi released

He was an accomplished and decorated collegiate football player at a major university.

He was a highly regarded draft prospect by talent evaluators across the league, and widely considered to be one of the top 32 players in the nation.

He looked the part of one of our better O-linemen through pre-season and the first game or two.

But.......

"He sucks and just isn't any good at football."

Carry on.

Correct.

Not sure why your comment is a "but". He looked the part coming out of college. Turns out he sucks at football (and/or was never able to get over his knee). That happens in sports. noidea

You're not alone, I was high on Carimi as well.

The worst part is that Carimi still counts as 907K in dead money on the Bears 2014 salary cap.

RE: Gabe Carimi released

Ummm, he got cut, right?

He certainly didn't live up to the hype that we bought into and hurt the a Bears, no?

Sure he had success in college but that doesn't matter now.

So he does suck. The league has decided that even if you didn't get he memo.

I always wondered if Gabe was on the juice at Wisconsin. He was stronger looking in a Wisconsin jersey...

Came to the Bears he arms got smaller and he lost 20 pounds of muscle.... HGH
