No offense intended to bear jim, but people should stop dumping on Peppers.  I think it's clear to everyone now that age and health have caught up to him, so there's really no need for us fans to keep piling on.

It's all but certain he won't be a Bear next year with an 18 million dollar cap hit, so we really just need to suck it up for the rest of this season and accept that he's not going to be what he used to be.

He's still had a nice run here, all things considered.

he's getting paid VERY well this year. He doesn't get to take the season off.

Don't think it was intended.   In the skit on the Bears app he was on the other day he made it sound like this is his last year.

Well said. And then there's the fans who think his dip in production is the result of a lack of effort.

I don't know why people get so surprised by football taking its toll on people.   Tommie Harris was a beast for a very short amount of time, but once he starting getting injured, it was over quickly for him.  It's a rough game played by giants.   When the Bears signed Peppers to that huge deal in 2010, I think we would have taken three pro-bowl seasons from him and would understand that by year four of that deal he would start to wear down.  It's the nature of the beast.

Well, speaking for myself, I don't consider either one of them a disappointment.

That's like saying who was less of a disappointment... Brandon Hardon or Evan Rodriquez?

Hardin is still on the team, so they must see something in him. However remote, there is still a possibility that he is a late bloomer and his injuries are flukes.

E Rod is done, and never gave us anything beyond bad FB play.

But the point is that both were terrible picks, and asking which one is worse doesn't really matter all that much.

RE: #90

The whole effort thing is such a crock of **** and a cop out for those with nothing to say. Just because the guy had the talent and athleticism to dominate ever single down doesn't mean he has to dominate every single down.

He's had games in Chicago where he's literally destroyed the opposition but didnt hit the stat sheet and everyone said he took the game off.

Just a lame fn cop out.

Re: #90

And the reason people answered you the way they did is because Julius Peppers was the #1 reason they made the NFC Championship and Cutler will walk away from the bears owning almost every record in the franchise.

Yes Peppers has dissapointed this season.....that doesn't make his time with the Bears a dissapoimtment.

I am disappointed that this is the first year the Bears decided to surround a QB with an actual offense and actual NFL caliber talent.

So as I said before....NEITHER.
