Report: Bears job down to two

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported earlier tonight that one of them will be Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the other is Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman.

False.  In fact, so false it's just idiotic.

When in doubt, blame Cutler !

Re: Report: Bears job down to two

You're entitled to your opinion. Lovie was average at best and I was sick and tired of watching the Bears lose all the time to teams above .500

It was time to move on. I was sick of settling with Lovie's sub par performance. Why you have to call my opinion idiotic because it doesn't agree with your satisfaction of having an average coach on the team is beyond me. The fact that you have to even mention "idiotic" in your statement says more about the validity of your opinion since you failed to justify it in any way. Good for you little buddy! Go root for the next team Lovie coaches if you're so butt hurt to lose him.

RE: Report: Bears job down to two

Trestman reportedly interviewed with the Raiders for their OC job, recently. Just thought it was interesting. Maybe a Bevell for HC and Trestman to OC package??

Either way...I prefer Bevell over any of the three alleged "finalists." Arians used to be my top choice, but then I thought about his "chuck it deep" offense and high sack numbers and it reminds me too much of what we've been doing offensively the last 3 seasons. Cutler might already be broken for crying out loud.

Good! I was concerned that he was not a part of the mix. I was impressed with how he handled the Colts in Pagano's absence this season.

Re: Report: Bears job down to two

Everyone who has worked with Trestman says he's a genius on the offensive side of the ball.  Jerry Rice, Bill Walsh, Gruden, Gannon, Bernie Kosar attributes his whole career to him, San Fran lead the nfl in pts scored under him and Young had his best year ever under him.  Gannon seemed to play ok under him with a career year.  I realize he hasn't been in the NFL lately, i'd imagine he has cable tv though and sees what he needs to see.  He's also a huge believer in building a top Oline, which we should all really want to be able to compete for multiple years.

Re: Report: Bears job down to two

More than a dozen candidates were interviewed, but Bears general manager Phil Emery will conduct second interviews with at least three of them.Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians is a finalist for the Bears head coaching job, according to a league source.
That means the Bears have three finalists: Arians, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Montreal Alouette coach Marc Trestman.Emery met with Bevell Saturday in Atlanta, where the Seahawks were preparing to play the Falcons in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. Emery met with Trestman Jan. 7 in the Chicago area.Trestman reportedly interviewed for the Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator job Sunday.Bevell has distinguished himself with the success of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, a third-round pick who shined throughout the season. Bevell was widely praised in Seattle for his development of Wilson. Previously, he was the offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings, most notably in 2009 when Brett Favre posted MVP caliber numbers.Trestman has worked with some of the league’s top quarterbacks and oversaw the top-rated Raiders offense that was led by Rich Gannon

My money is on Trestman. All signs point to it, whether you or I approve of it doesn't matter. I just look for the signs then accept them. I'm surprised I'm saying this but I think I'd prefer Bevell!?

I will be SICK if they hire Trestman.  Of the two, BEVELL by a long shot!!!!
We will have NO running game with Trestman.  It will be finesse/sissy football in Chicago.

I agree. Out of the list of "finalists," I prefer Bevell.

Bevell
Arians
Trestman

In that order

I agree with the nerd comment. Do a basic search on the Internet for him to see pictures and that is him dork. I don't see Brandon Marshall listening to this guy!
