Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
Without drinking the navy blue and orange koolaid who thinks we'll actually win a game in the playoffs. Every other year I can think of except maybe we lost to Houston to not make it, did I think we had a shot. We've looked so not like a playoff team against playoff teams that I ask myself is it worth it?! If we get in and get embarrassed by the 49ers in the first round then who cares and Lovie will probably still be here. Not that I won't cheer for them to get in and win when they are in it is just reality says otherwise

RE: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
Look at the games against the playoff teams...The only game that was embarrassing was the 49ers and that was without Cutler.
Would we be favored in any game?....No
Could the Bears win...Sure.
Again...How can anyone watch the NFL, and week after week see upsets.
This week....how can anyone watch the VIkings go to Houston and win, and not think the Bears could win a game.
Do I think it is likely????? No.....but possible and I would get enjoyment out of watching it....which is kind of the point.
And FYI....the Bears already beat the Colts. And if the Cowboys win on Sunday, they will have already beaten them.

Re: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
I don't see any matchups where we'd be favored, but I do think we can beat a playoff team.
Certainly Seattle - we took them to OT. Much tougher in their house, but we should have some of our injured players back.
The 49ers? We'll have a better shot with Cutler than we did with Campbell. Plus it won't hurt to have some game tape on Kaepernick.
Washington isn't terrifying.
Green Bay? The law of averages is on our side!

Re: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
I highly doubt whether we can beat any of the teams the way we have been playing. If we played to early season standards maybe we get one win. Would it be worth it to watch the Bears one more time this season? Yes.

Re: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
Nobody thought Seattle would win their playoff game a few years ago, so anything is possible.

I agree with those of you that say you'd enjoy watching the Bears. I do as well! But one thing I don't like watching is the Bears losing big or to the Packers in general. Both of those things are likely. By the way whoever said the law of averages is with us against the Packers, tell that to the Lions who have lost 20 straight to the Packers in WI

Because they suck in a perennial, universal, cosmic sort of way that's even stronger than any natural law. The Packers would probably beat us in the playoffs but it's no certainty and I'd rather at least have the chance to beat them than not make the playoffs at all. Look what Cincinatti finally did to Pittsburgh after Dalton went something like 0-6 against them.

RE: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
Unless the Niners lose to Arizona, then the Bears will play in San Francisco if they get in. No, I don't think we'll beat them, but a lot of the talk about the Niners is how teams are surprised at just how fast they are on defense when you play them for the first time. Since we have played them alreay, we should be better prepared. Then you have Kaepernick in his first playoff game, we'll have Cutler back, and depending on what happens next week, it's sounding like we'll be as healthy as we've been in a long time. Plus the Niners have given up 76 points the last two weeks, so maybe some of the heir of invincibility of their defense is gone.
So gun to my head I'd still pick the Niners, but I don't think it's impossible we can win out there.

They had offenses that can put up more than 14points. With the way this offensive line gets manhandled and the way Cutler has played this year when not handed a 2 score lead, what makes anyone think they could beat The Niners or maybe the Packers/Seahawks?

Re: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
Hell yes the Bears can win a playoff game !!! Did you see Houston and the 49ers yesterday? A few short weeks ago the Bears took Seattle to overtime. If not for losing the coin toss and putting a totaly exausted Defense back on the field the Bears win that game. I am sick of these so called Bear Fans saying they hope we loose so Lovie gets fired. Screw you all !!!!! Go Bears !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
Do I actually think we can beat a playoff team? Yes, I do. There's no unbeatable team out there right now.
We certainly will be underdogs, but I personally don't see how anyone could not want to see an extra week of Bears football.
As for the Lovie Smith part of it, what if they miss out and he stays for his final year anyway? All that emotion and energy spent rooting against the Bears for something that didn't happen anyway. And don't be fooled, it is a possible outcome (though probably not likely) that he stays even if they miss the postseason.
There's no guarantee he gets fired, so why suffer the misery of rooting against your team just for the hope that it might happen?

I think the questions a mute one, odds are Detroit beats Bears 21 to 13.

Re: Who thinks we can actually beat 1 of the playoff teams?
We haven't beaten GB in 3 years so I doubt under any circumstances at this point other than Rodgers being injured we beat them. Seattle and the 9ers we lost to as well this year already. The way the Bears have played the past 5 or games have been horrible and have showed not one ounce of improvement... AZ was a joke and were on their 4th QB or something like that.
Does that mean they can't get lucky or all show up on the same page for ONE game and win? Sure they can but 2+ no way in hell IMO. They just don't have it against top tier teams. Maybe next year after a great draft and FA.

Just remember this. Half of you guys shrieking for Martz' head to get lopped off have been having second thoughts about that wish lately. Some of you guys are always shrieking for somebody to get fired lol.
