Why the Bears will beat the Packers!!!!

Why the Bears will beat the Packers!!!!

1. Drops are correctable - the drops yesterday were in part due to 2 WRs returning including Hester and Jefferies who both had some rust.... Expect both to improve against Packers!

2. Bears have beaten good teams including Cowboys, Vikings, Colts, and Rams... We lost to 49ers and Seattle just like the Packers.... Every game we lost we were in until end excluding 49ers game. If the Packers come out flat against Bears like they did last night Bears will trounce.

3. Return of injured players - Bears missed Paea badly but he returns this week. Earl Bennett returns to have our full group of starting WRs since week 2....this will be the difference. Packers may get Mathews back but I doubt Woodson.... I rather play Clay in his first game back tween he is not in game shape then 3 weeks from now!

4. OL improving- only 4 sacks in last 3 games and this is against quality DLs! The return of Chris Spencer will be a big boost and this line can run block against the Packers...

5. Cutler - I think Cutler is hitting his stride and he threw two unacceptable picks but overall he has been hot and my guess is he circled this game on hic calendar.

6. Bears DL vs Packers OL - huge mismatch and the perfect OL to bring some sacks and turn overs...Look for Peppers n Melton to wreak avocado.

Bears need to get the lead and stay with run while no turnovers. Win this one and winning division is still possible!

Like the optimism. Certainly refreshing given some of the schlock posted here the last day or so. But I think this game will be a tall order. Being at home helps, but they will have to execute at a level they haven't for weeks now, and Cutler will need to break his streak of bad games against the Packers defense.

And don't forget

7. Bears will beat the Packers because they have to!

And when they win all will be forgiven.

(Except Kellen Davis' drops)

Re: Why the Bears will beat the Packers!!!!

I have no idea who is going to win cool
The Packers didn't come out flat against the Lions, they got man handled, out executed and out coached in the first half. Fortunately they are the Lions and made some bad mistakes, the Packers started to execute somewhat and McCarthy went unpacker like in his playcalling. They focused on the run. It's that time of the year and the Bears will see a strong effort by the Packers to run the ball. They went heavy and inserted an extra lineman- Van Roten- to help open lanes on that 7 running play drive for their last TD.
The Packers have a worse OL than the Bears and that's why Rodgers is the most sacked QB in the NFL by far.
The Packers have more injuries than the Bears by far also.
There is no question that McCarthy saved Matthews and Woodson for this game, they both could have played against the Lions, this game is more important. CJ Wilson will also probably play this week. Expect Woodson to be mugging Marshall, he don't give a crap about penalties. He'll also be undercutting routes like usual. Clay will be in "game shape" he only has one speed and he will be drooling like a caged animal to finally get back on the field.`The last time the Bears beat the Packers the Pack had 15 penalties and some turnovers. That's probably the best way to beat them again. Both teams will come out banging heads and ready for a heavyweight fight like usual, it's Bears Packers.

HOF MLB Ray Nitschke when asked about his broken, crooked, misshaped fingers. "That's from jamming them in Bear facemasks."

The Pack should have Matthews and Woodson back. You could see Matthews chomping at the bit on the sidelines of the Detroit game.

This game is for all the marbles and we will need all hands on deck to have a chance against the Bears.

Records mean nothing when these two teams play. Hopefully the game will be without injury as the chances of both teams meeting in the playoffs in the first round are pretty high.

Um ... Rodgers has been sacked the most, but I think even Bears fans (and I live here, so I'm around them every day) would tell you that their o-line is worse than ours.  Packers' o-line isn't the greatest, but their guys are playing their natural positions, now that Barclay has replaced Lang at RT.  The Bears have a guard playing center, Webb is a horrendous talent mismatch against almost any premier d-end, Carimi got demoted from right tackle, etc.  Also - forget Rodgers getting sacked - have you paid any attention to what Cutler has gone through this season???

Sorry, but, while the Packers' o-line is far from perfect, I'd be willing to bet that most Bears fans would trade theirs for ours, player for player.

If we manage to beat the Packers and win a playoff game, will you leave forever?

Not saying that we will, but a guy can always hope......

I really dont hope you feel that 1 win over the Packers would change anything. Actually, I know you do because you dont think anything is wrong in the first place. Your homerism is only rivaled by 1 other person on this board.

That is a very good point.  Lots of shifting with the positions on our line.  Carimi has never played guard before, and losing Lance Louis was a big blow.  Spencer should be coming back I hope, and he's probably better at guard than Edwin Williams, though granted that's not saying all that much.

The Bears offensive line is without question the worst in the NFL, tied with Philly's.

Packers line is bad, but like you said everybody's in their natural position, and that helps a bunch.

I would consider it a huge victory if the Bears make it out of this game injury-free, regardless of the outcome.  Seems like every game we've had guys getting injured, concussions, sprains, etc. Cutler with a concussion and now neck spasms.   It's been brutal.

Re: Why the Bears will beat the Packers!!!!

Unfortunately for the the Bears, the Packers have a lot to play for this Sunday too.  If the Packers lose they are back in a dog fight.  They will come out to seal the deal now.

Also unfortuantely for the Bears, the Packers are still just better.  for the Bears to win it will take more of the crazy stuff; defensive TD's, big special teams plays, etc.  I can't see Cutler to Marshall winning the game for us.

But I disagree beating the Packers won't change anything for the Bears.  All the NFC teams have shown moments of weakness, certainly the Bears have but if they can beat GB they are ight back in it with games against two bad teams, a shot at 11-5 and a shot at hosting a playoff game.  If you don't think that means anything, then don't watch the game

Indeed.  No homerism here at all - just weekly observation, but - RG Josh Sitton is one of the best guards in football.  Trouble is, he's the only one that Ted Thompson hit on in the draft, that has had no injury or performance issues.  Jeff Saturday is a one-year stopgap at center - he's old and frankly, has not had the best year.  Bulaga is a very good RT, but he's out for the year, as is Sherrod, who is the next franchise LT.  Newhouse does great against average d-lines, but spotty against great ones.  Is it what it is.

This is why the Patriots are who they are ... I'm sick to death of them, too, but Belichick has put the absolute highest premium on his o-line, since day one and he's the GM, and that's why he's got 3 rings.  Brady has turned into a great QB, obviously, but he WAS a 6th round pick for a reason.  He has been spoiled with the best pass-blocking o-linemen, his entire career, bar none.  For all the crap the Packers get about never having a running game - um, when the hell have the Patriots ever had one?  Never!  It doesn't matter.  Their pass-blocking has been the best for 10+ years and that's why they're always there in the playoffs.
