Chiefs player commits suicide [MERGED]

Chiefs player commits suicide [MERGED]

All over ESPN. No name confirmed yet, but I went onto the KC board and they think it's Javon Belcher.  Story is that he killed his girl friend and went to the team facility and killed himself in front of some coaches.

Again, not confirmed yet but they think it's him.  Real sad.  Both leave behind a 2.5 month old baby girl

Please send prayers to the Chiefs organization

KCTV in Kansas City is reporting that linebacker Jevon Belcher shot and killed himself at the Chiefs practice facility this morning after first killing his girlfriend at her house.  There are also reports that the suicide was witnessed by either other players or members of the coaching staff.  Kansas City police currently have Arrowhead stadium under lock down.

Just read on a Chiefs board that it was in front of Romeo Crennel and the GM Pioli.

Sick situation.  Supposedly it's Belcher and he killed his gf at home then drove to the facility and blew his brains out in the parking lot after talking with Crennel and Paoli.

NFL told the Panthers to travel to KC as planned.  If you're a KC player/coach I can't imagine trying to get mentally prepared for this game.  2.5 month baby now grows up with no parents...damn shame.

Hold your breath and wait for the concussions caused this crap to start too.

@JasonLaCanfora: KCPD say the player thanked both men before taking his life, and that Pioli and Crennel did not feel threatened.

He might be reacting to the fact that he killed an innocent person prior to taking his own life...

Call it what you want, but he choose to take someone with him. It's hard to feel sorry for him.

Shot his GF/mother of his 2 month old baby and then took his own cowardly life. Someone now will spend the rest of their life without their biological parents. An innocent person is DEAD.

LOL at your dumb fn post. I guess you respect murderers and believe they deserve respect.

Very sad situation. Feel bad for the little baby who is now an orphan and for the players and coaches who had to see this. No comment on the guy who did it.

I don't have the capacity to understand the mental state of a person that commits suicide so I do feel the smallest sliver of sympathy. Much more so for everyone else involved, though. I don't think Scott Pioli and Romeo Crennel had "watch a terrible linebacker off himself in the parking lot" on their agenda this week.

Makes you wonder what the hell this is all about. I just hope he had something set up for that kid.

Sad situation for all involved, but not everything bad that happens to football players can/is chalked up to concussions.

I agree with anytime.

Everyone feels depressed and worthless at times in their lives, but there's really no excuse for killing others or selfishly dumping your baggage on others by offing yourself in a public way.

I' m sorry about it, but POS is right.

Outside of agreeing this is just terrible, I am not giving my opinion on this. Would only lead to a huge arguement. Such a tragedy all the way around.

When in doubt, blame Cutler !

Anytime and njc... wrong.  Despicable?  Yes.  Brings to mind Chris Benoit from the WWE.  Horrible thing that happened.  I feel that it's wrong to jump to conclusions and call the man names.  Incredibly insensitive, and I agree with the sentiment of 34, not classy at all.

RE: Chiefs player commits suicide [MERGED]

You can go ahead and be sensitive for a murderer and be all politically correct about this whole thing. I wont. I'll save my sensitivity for people who deserve it. Like that murdered young lady, her parentless child and her mother who witnessed her murder. I feel for Romeo, Pioli and the LB coach who now have to deal with the awful memory of watching him kill himself. My sensitivity goes out to our Bears brother aurorabrad, whos getting treatment for cancer. It goes out to people without a choice. Not to idiots like this LB who take away life and i dont care what mental illnesses and football injury excuses people will make for him.

If im classless for having these feelings about a dead murderer, then so be it. Have JS change my title to classless. I stick by my statements 100% and then some. Guy can rot in hell for i care. Quote me on it.

RE: Chiefs player commits suicide [MERGED]

It is ironic how people will say his death is a tragedy but a murderer (for example) that kills a bunch of people at a Batman premier is a POS.

I also found it strange that KC fans on their board said basically I wouldn't want to be the Panthers tomorrow because the team is going to be pumped.....for a murderer.

Maybe POS is too strong for some of you and that's fine. I will wish his friends and family well but that's it. His actions were awful and I don't see a reason to honor him at all.

Save that for the troops or victims of murder....not the murderer.

I guess that makes me classless too...

They said that? This is an interesting statement because i was asking myself if the NFL was going to turn this into some kind of inspirational game for the chiefs. Was wondering if they were going to do a moment of silence and the whole nine.
