The Bears traded away Olsen to get another pick in the draft....that pick was part of the reason they got Marshall. 

A win-win for the Bears.

Couple things - Greg Olsen isn't good. If the Panthers could get a third for him, they would take it, but as a Bears fan, I absolutely wouldn't offer it. I feel totally comfortable saying that. The trade was good; the inability to replace him was the problem.

Davis is awful. I don't disagree with that. Normally when threads like this are made, like with Webb for example, I point out how stupid it is to cut a bad starter in favor of a WORSE backup. But I honestly have a hard time believing it can get much worse. Davis starts because he sounds decent enough in theory, but the sheer number of negative plays just don't make it worth it. He is so unbelievably bad that I could probably make a list of 3-5 readily available street free agents that I would feel more comfortable with.

Okay, well the free agent list kind of sucks, but Kellen Winslow would be an upgrade. Let's sign him and bench Davis.

I think its time for the Kellen Davis experiment to come to an end.

I agree....if healthy.

He supposedly looked ok with Ne and asked to be released because he wanted a better oppurtunity.

Agree, Dickfingers isn't good with protection or catching.

Would we be any worse going with who we currently have on the roster?

Kellen Davis has to be the worse TE in the game ATM. I mean the guy can't catch or block for crap!! I don't mind Kelken Winslow at least I know he can catch!!! But the bears def need an upgrade in TE.

Yeah, but people are forgetting his performance vs Carolina 2-3 years ago.  He basically single-handedly lost us that game.

Was at that game and i took a lot of grief from the Carolina Fans that i was giving grief to in the first half.

It seems pretty clear Davis is not helping this team.  They really need Jeffrey back.

I was there too.  It sucked.

What the hell was he in the game for near the end (and targeted) after the way he played?  Spaeth was at least catching the ball.
