Game 9 Discussion Thread - Well that sucked - L 13-6
This is the biggest game of the year so far.
Now, after that brief statement by Capt. Obvious, we can get down to business.
This should be an interesting test for the Bears as the Texans have a very balanced offense with a big play threat in Andre Johnson and an elite RB in Arian Foster. Weather might play a factor in the passing game since Chicago is a virtual wind tunnel today and we're expected to get some rain later.
If that's the case, it's the Matt Forte vs Arian Foster show. Might not be the worst thing in the world if we're forced to run the ball more, then we can avoid watching Watt slam Cutler into the turf 10 or 12 times.
I'd like to see the Bears come out and post a score or two early to force the Texans into playing catchup. That would play right into the hands of this defense.
Discuss.

To me, this game is all about Cutler. I want to see how he responds if this team ends up going down early and needs him to make the plays. Its hard to ask the defense to win this game vs that offense.

Honestly what Cutler needs to do is.
1. Get rid of the ball faster 2. Throw the ball away instead of getting sacked 3. Not force any throws in double coverage 4. Make the big plays specially 3rd down 5. Lastly NO TURNOVERS(Interceptions or fumbles)
Against a defense like Houston we can't afford to make a lot of mistakes and if Cutler does all that we can easily win this game. If Packers can make them look mediocre then we can too. Our defense has been our bread and butter I hope they step up again with turnovers and shutting down Texans running game.

I'm okay with Cutler trying to make some things happen because that's a part of what makes him so good. He's just gotta stop missing the throws that are there early in the game. A part of that will be getting him comfortable in the pocket. In order to put the O-line in a position where it's not totally overmatched, they'll want to get Forte going early and often.

1-cutler throw the ball over yes yes no reason to get yourself killed 2- don't turn the ball over 3-run the ball till they stop it and run it in the middle 4- the wind will be a big factor tonight 5-defdefensively they cant bite on play action the Texan are very good in play action KalihiKrusha wrote: Honestly what Cutler needs to do is.

Gray skies, really windy, and still unseasonably warm.

You can't even describe how bad the wind is. Dead one minute, 45 mph gusts the next. Maybe schaub. Will be wearing gloves for the wind tonight......

I am absolutely giddy imagining Schaub trying to cut the ball through the wind. I hope our D stacks the box and dares Schaub to make some throws.

FEELS LIKE:59° HUMIDITY:65% PRECIP:50% WIND:S at 27 mph
It has gotten windier as the day has gone by
Don't think this will help either team although it may slow down the pass rush slightly. Of course it gives our line an excuse to fall down and take an nap while Cutler is getting killed too.

The Weather Service wind advisory is in effect only until 6:00 pm, but Accuweather is showing a 66% chance of rain from game time until after midnight. It's likely going to be a sloppy track, and likely windy enough to impact the passing game.
I'm looking for a big contribution from Michael Bush, and it's about time for Devin Hester to make a difference. If our defense has problems, we're in trouble anyway.
Go Bears!
