I mean it's not like they haven't been selling official Braves gear with logo on it already: http://www.lids.com/MLB/Atlanta-Braves/20113733

Why are they making a fuss out of it now, because they'll use it during the games?

I don't find it offensive, but I do find it ugly.

To me it's not a Screaming Indian its a Smiling Indian. It's not offensive. The Cleveland Indians wahoois a lot more offensive than the Braves logo

The idiot grading the new hats gave the Braves an "F" because it's offensive but then he gives the Indians a "C" stating its too generic.

I understand the historical signifigance of the screaming brave cap, but my kid did find it extremely offensive and would not touch the one I bought for her. She is 24 and a grad student at Emory at the time. Some people ARE going to be bothered by it. I just don't know how many of those are Atlanta Braves fans.

The Braves wore this logo on their uniforms in Milwaukee for most of 13 years, what's the big Deal. I"d rather see the "Brave" logo on a sleeve like the old days. I'm sure some will make this Political and find it offensive, however it is part of the Braves History.

Prior when in Boston the Braves used a logo of a Chief in a War head dress that was really Colorful and Cool...like the Chicago Blackhawks logo.

JMO, but I wish the Braves and the rest of pro sports had left this imagery in the 20th century.

I'm with you Julio, wish the Indians and Redskins would ditch their logos and Braves would never bring it back. I mean it's part of history but it's not history that really needs to be forced back into the mainstream.

I have Indian blood. I don't find this offensive at all.

Why you are being ultra sensitive, why not lose the name Braves too?

Just because you don't find it offensive doesn't mean others don't.

Hmmmm this thread seems oddly familiar to a Bill Shanks thread that I remember quite well from around the same time last year..........

Still find it funny that people who aren't Native American (and not 1/76 Native American or some crap like that) are commenting that this isn't offensive to them.

I also, still find it funny that people still to this day refer to a whole race of people by the wrong name.  If you calling your own heritage "Indian", I'm not sure I can take your opinion seriously.

It has nothing to do with you or me, and everything to do with people who are, in fact, Native American.  And plenty of Native Americans find this type of thing offensive.

Every lily-white southerner (and maybe in the whole country, who knows) claims some form of Native blood somewhere down the line. That's doesn't make your opinion relevant. Unless you or someone in your immediate family currently has tribal affiliation (or are of >50% blood or whatever), you should probably refrain from talking about your "Indian heritage" as if you are who this might be offensive to.
