Next years team. What would u do?

Next years team. What would u do?

With Chipper (14 million), Lowe (10 mil), Bourn ( 9 mil), JJ no tendered, Diaz gone, Hinske gone. That gives us almost 40 million to spend. I know of a few raises but Hanson, Uggla, or Mac could probably b traded to. To me we need a middle of the order hitter that probably plays LF or 3b and is a fan draw. Hamilton or Wright come to mind. Move Prado to 2b or 3b and pursue Hamilton. I know most here don't like to spend lots of money on one player. But if u could trade Uggla u would free up half ur payroll. Move Prado to 2b. Maybe try trading Teheran for Olt and Hanson and Spurril for Span. I know it's a lot but with Chipper gone maybe we should shake things up a bit.

Cf-Span
2b-Prado
Lf-Hamilton
Rf-Heyward
1b-Freeman
3b-Olt
C-Mac
SS-Simmons

Medlen
Hudson
Mahalom
Minor
Delgado (Beachy when he comes back)

That would leave u money to lock up guys like Heyward, Freeman, Medlen, and Kimbrel.

How can I even think about this right now?

All I can think about is Sam Holbrooke. And Chipper's error.

Probably about close to the same team minus Chipper/Bourn.

Hope Johnson/Ross are back.

I say go sign Grienke for $20m a year... Go trade for Span and Headley.

Use Delgado and Maholm for Headley

Use Gilmartin and  Hanson for Span

Span
Prado
Heyward
Freeman
Headley
Mccann
Uggla
Simmons

Grienke
Hudson
Medlen
Minor
Teheran

Kimbrel
O'Flahrety
Venters
Gearin
Martinez
Avilan
??

this pitching staff is going to be really really good again next year.  i would expect a lot of the same next year as you saw this year except a fewer runs scored.

i predict a 5-1 wild card play in game loss to the san francisco giants next year.

We need offense, not pitching.

Signing Greinke would be bad unless it's like 5/60.

seriously.  no need to waste a big contract on an overrated pitcher when your big holes are on the other side of the field.

the pitching staff next year should be awesome.

hudson
moholm
minor
medlen
hanson

with delgado, teheran, and beachy in the pipeline.  if there's money to spend, it needs to go to some bats.  there are only a couple of reliable hitters on the field at this point.

In my plan I added two big bats without adding big payroll... We need a shutdown pitcher. Grienke is one of the best pitchers in baseball and wants to be here

Holes in CF, 3B, and SP.  We sign one high priced free agent, swing one big trade, sign somone washed up for the third.

I think we have a hole at SP b/c we have to trade Minor or Delgado in the big trade.

Bourn is not back.  Olt is not available.  I think we get an Upton.

Maybe Delgado depending what the trade is.

No, he's not and definitely not worth 1/4th of our payroll only to play in 30 games out of 162. It is almost 700k a start.

To be the man, you have to beat the man and so far I am undefeated.

No way should the Braves acquire another pitcher. By midseason Medlen/Beachy/Minor/Hudson/any one of Maholm/Tehearn/Delgado will be great. Its all about getting offense and more offense on top of that. Go get Spahn and then get the best LF or 3B you can get.

We will have plenty of money to get that big bat we need n Lf. And I'm sure Olt will b available with 3b blocked n Texas. Our rotation and bullpen will b fine next year. All we need is offense.

Whatever we do, I don't want to see Bourn or Uggla in a Braves uniform next year. Bourn literally had NO effect the second half of the season. Let him go get overpaid elsewhere

Pitching wise we are fine. We need some help in the outfield with Bourn probably gone and Prado coming back to the infield.

Well, for starters, I'd go out and get a power hitter who can hit 30 infield fly rules over the fence with a good OPS. #notoverit
