I'm fine with sitting bourn as long as he needs we're not really playing for anything and we're playing easy teams for the most part.

Bourn was in such a slump anyways I'm happy to let his whole body recover. It goes back to my Chipper theory over the years that for all the injuries where he would miss a couple weeks, it would allow the rest of his body to recover which I think raised his production when he was out there.

I think Bourn has been hurt for a while. His bats are not the same as in the first half. Remember this is his walk year and he should be at the top of his game or that's the way most players have done it. He's going to get a huge pay day anyhow with so many looking for lead off players who can play CF. Would love to have him but in 4/5 years his contract is going to hurt some team.

On an unrelated note, ESPN lists Hudson as the Wednesday starter for us in the final game. Is that right? If that's the case, if we win the wild card game, he would only be on 3 days rest for the Sunday start of the NLDS. Would Minor possibly go in game 1?

It is safe to say Huddy will not be starting that game barring the Nats making things interesting. We need a great game by Hanson tonight, if for no other reason than for his trade value.
Zito on Simmons (2/24/12): if Simmons can be as good as Alexei that would shock me. If we could get Alexei and Lilli for Beachy and get cash I would do it. Being "arguably the best defensive SS in the minors" means nothing...
