Bonifacio and Russell to Atlanta Confirmed

Possible deal in works Waiting for confirmation of James Russell to Braves deal. He was high on their board, after Miller.

@pgammo: Cubs got #7 prospect C/3B Victor Caratini from Braves. Expected arrival time 2017 blocked by Gattis, Bethancourt

Emilio Bonifacio
29.3yrs old
2014 1 yr, $2.5M
2015 FREE AGENT

James Russell
28.6yrs old
2014 1 yr, $1.775M
2015 ARB 3
2016 FREE AGENT

Trade was announced 5 hours before game time and new Braves were in Chicago. It is about a 4 hour flight so they could make game time or the early innings. Or meet team in SD

Great deal for Atlanta! Got 2 pros and cash! Bonaficio may be best bench bat addition since Infante!

Re: Bonifacio and Russell to Atlanta Confirmed

I'm going to guess Jaime and Gosselin are sent out to open spots on 25 man

On 40 man only 39 were taken and they can move Floyd to 60 day DL to open 40th spot

I'm only guessing at this point because nothing has been made official

@Braves: Bonifacio and Russell will report to San Diego tomorrow. Corresponding moves on the 25-man roster will be made at that time.

@Braves: RHP Gavin Floyd will be transferred to the 60-day DL and RHP Luis Vasquez will be designated for assignment.

Following last night's game, the Braves optioned LHP Chasen Shreve to Triple-A Gwinnett. It was a demotion, but at the same time it was a promotion from AA
