Im the biggest Prado fan around, but once I see him up there with a Braves hat on and a big smile on his face, ill miss Prado less and be that much more excited that we have Justin Upton on our team. Dont think some on here realize that yet. We have the Upton bros.

Yeah it still hasn't really set n yet. Nobody would have believed this outfield 2 years ago with our payroll.

Sweet, can't wait to see it.

Also can't wait to see the Upton brothers in uniform together.

I wonder if BJ will be there.

I don't think Justin actually showed up to his. I could be mistaken but I thought he was supposed to but didn't make it. I even remember them asking BJ where he was and he said he didn't know. Maybe I dreamed all that?

THIS.  We will have not only the Upton bros and Heyward for atleast 3 more years, but Freeman, Uggla, and Simmons as well on the offensive side.  I always wondered what this team would like like post Chipper, and here we are saying we will have a good offense even if Uggla and McCann doesnt perform well like last year.  Wren has done a great job.

Braves need to spend their extra reserves on locking these guys up. Not sure what they are waiting for but Heyward/Medlen need to be locked up now!

This was my exact thought process after the trade, only it all occurred over an hour or 2 instead of days. I really wanted Upton but did NOT want to give up either Teheran or both Delgado and Graham. I also didn't want to just throw in a guy like Bethancourt. Based on what I'd heard, I was on the fence as to whether I really wanted us to pull the trigger.

Then I heard we had made the deal and heard the names of Delgado, Spruill, and Ahmed; I was thrilled, although a little confused. Then I found out Prado was in it and was pretty down for a while. I just hadn't even considered him as a possible piece of the trade and hated to lose him. Then it finally clicked that we had Jason Heyward and Justin Upton on the same team, and, as much as I love Prado, see ya! Then I heard about the improbability of us re-signing Prado, and the deal just made sense overall and was a phenomenal deal.

We have two premier, elite talents in the outfield, and both are just now starting to entire their prime (Heyward still probably 2-3 years away). That is incredibly exciting.

They had Heyward on MLB radio yesterday and asked him would he be open to a long term deal right now and he said he would, as long as the numbers were fair and worked on both sides. We really need to start thinking about this, if he has a monster year he's going to start to get expensive anyway. Plus we only have 3 more years before he hits Free Agency.

Not sure what the numbers would be but I would give him an 8 year 100 million dollar deal and give him 5 million bonus up front out of the leftover reserves. That should be the number 1 priority for the Braves right now.

They may have behind the scenes & I've brought it up before, but I'd ask Jupton about adding 2 years to his deal at the same rate that B.J has for those 2 years. May be a little under market value potentially for him, but the added value of security, playing with his brother. ect. Plus, if he turns it down, he's telling B.J he's worth more, which he may want to avoid

I'd rather have Heyward signed long term. I think Upton will love it here playing with his brother. i don't believe he is going to want to leave as long as BJ is playing here. Braves need to lock up Heyward and if they are daring do the same with Medlen.
